Is there a way to disable the automatic engine cutoff (ESS) when stopped?

I get so tired of pressing that button every time I get in because the automatic engine shutoff system is extremely annoying to me. Furthermore I suspect that on really hot days it won't let my AC cool down fast and on cold days it doesn't let my engine warm up as quickly as it otherwise could. Is there a way to disable this? Sorry if this has been covered, I did do a search.

Tazer or pull the plug under the hood. Only catch with pulling the plug is you'll have the light on all the time for it not working.

I've just gotten in the habit of extending my index finger on my way down to the gear shifter when I put it in drive. It's become muscle memory/habit at this point.
