99 is the ecoscore but 799 is still listed in the speed box far bottom right.........

Yes, really like the Appleplay connection! Like all GPS you have to check and verify it’s route, nice to see it on the big screen and IOS updates for free.

Yes mine was like $149.00 they send you a USB stick. They got to keep the money flowing in buckets you know.

Last year we were going to Crystal River Fl to swim with the manatees, when I called the man I rented the house from he said "do not use GPS it will get you lost". Although the address showed up on the GPS and my phone, neither one was right.

I got the same email. I do know that cars I've owned before that had built-in GPS & mapping did require regular updates to the map database. It used to be done via CD; not sure how it's done now.

One of the draws of apps such as Waze, Apple Maps, etc., is that you don't have to worry about doing the local updates on your vehicle. The benefit of the built-in maps is that they work regardless of whether or not you have any cell or data service and you forget to download maps for where you plan to be...like in the middle of the desert or in Alaska, I guess.

As an interesting aside to your in the middle of Alaska statement.

I have ridden my motorcycle to Alaska twice (dual sport), and yes I would do it again in a heart beat, DO NOT TAKE YOUR JEEP ON THE DALTON, the calcium chloride will damage all of the finishes on the vehicle and it actually never comes completely off.

Anyway back to the point, on both trips, north of Coldfoot and a hundred or so mile south of Prudhoe Bay, all of our GPS units (various types) lost signal and shut down. Another 15 or so miles up the road we were able to get them back. Same thing happened south bound.

All of the units lost signal (not unusual), the screen brightness was set to completely dark and then the units shut down.

This happened on both trips...

After filling out the order, I notice this is for the "2021 Map Update". Any ideas when the 2022 Map update will be out? Obviously after the $50 discount expires...

Put yourself on their mailing list and get notified whenever they have a sale. You get whatever the most current update is when the order is placed. You will have to contact them to get current revision and release information.
