Is this why the Gladiator prices are dropping?

Well hopefully they right the system and start getting those crazy upcharges gone. My wife wanted to buy a Tuscon and everyone around here wants to sell everything high and then tack on crazy $10K-$14k Market Adjustment fee. One of the dealers told me we would never find one without the markups. I said that is ok. I can wait you all out

I’m waiting on steep discounts and to pick up a Grand Wagoneer, I just don’t want the new hurricane motor. I want all 8 cylinders and no forced induction. Not sure it’ll be easy to find by that time as most are being made with the hurricane motor

There's a decent amount available around here but most are over 50K or loaded up Mojave or Rubicon's. I suspect the premium pricing for the Gladiator models combined with the high interest rates have frozen up demand.

One of my local dealers has 42 Gladiators on the lot and they are not a high volume dealership.

I think there is a supply chain rubber band affect that is catching up and a normal economic slow down that will be making many dealership lots flush with vehicles in the next few months to come.
Yup, I think you are correct along with what someone else said concerning interest rates. I see this everywhere, not just in this topic, but everyone has an oversupply and I think it is because of the demand and supply imbalance over the last two years. Materials and orders were already paid for so products are being pushed out to retailers and dealers to fill past orders that they no longer need.

Well my trade in value according to KBB and NADA dropped from $48k to $38k overnight it seems like. Maybe the market is correcting. Good thing I bought a Jeep and not an investment. :D

I spent many years in the car biz. It's always supply and demand. The supply chain screwups are still with us but Jeep has been able to build plenty for us. My local Jeep store has a huge inventory and is still trying to add market adjustments and dealer add-on packages. I'm about an hour southwest of Dallas, Texas and you will see Jeeps everywhere you turn.
I got my '21 Overland for invoice in November of '20. I'm not planning to change anything for another year or two. This will depend on the national economic picture as my income depends on folks borrowing money for their homes.

At the dealer this weekend to pick up an oil filter .. how about a nice Mojave for $73k?

Yup! I have a feeling it will sit there unless the dealer applies some incentives to it. I’m in the market for a Gladiator right now but the price of both new and used has been insane, at least here in Colorado.

Getting a quote for a (new build) order from one of the dealerships that does under invoice pricing brings down the insane price a little bit, but the price is still higher than I want to spend even though I am at a point in my life where I can afford it.

I’ll sit on the sidelines a bit longer and wait to see what happens. I get it that MSRP probably won’t ever go DOWN, but if the market is as much of a bloodbath next year as people say it will be, maybe there will be some great incentives and financing deals.

And THIS is why dealers have a lot of Gladiators on their lots. The demand is there. The demand from people willing to overpay is not.

It will take a while for the dealership owners to call in from their super yachts parked at their private islands. When they hear how many vehicles are sitting on the lot with outdated markups, they will say, "Sell, sell, sell!" and only then will prices come down.

My dealer has 2 on the lot. A Wills and a Rubicon. Not much of a price reduction on either.

Really it’s just a question of when dealerships start seeing a hit to their volume and eliminating their stupid markups. It’s no longer hard to find most new cars if you shop nationally, eventually everybody will have to play ball.
