We have a 100lb Great Dane that can leap up inside when she knows she’s going to the off lease park. She’ll then run her face off at the park and pretend she can’t leap back in…. I’ll put some food on the platform and she forgets how big of of weeny she is and will leap up there without me having to pick up her big phat a$$ and blow out my back.
”off lease park”. I hear there are some great deals there!

I got these stairs from Amazon. Once you remove the check strap and unplug the wiring harness, they fit perfectly in the back door. My 14 year old mutt Duke wouldn't be able to get into the truck at all without them, and using stairs will help save your younger dogs' joints a lot of wear and tear that they might regret when they're 14.

Not to be that guy, but is picking the dog up not an option? We have a 65lb rottie who is scared of her own shadow, so I just end up forklifting her (one arm under the chest, one under the belly) and hoisting her over until she can rest her front paws on the seat. Once she stops flailing like an idiot, I set her back legs down. It's a process, but it works.

Yeah if your GSD is 7 I’d start helping him/her up or do the steps. Our 8yr old Shepard sits at the door and I hoist her 65# butt up. Now our Mal she will probably double roundhouse in mid air and stop then matrix gravitate into the back seat. She’s freakin psycho.
video of your Mal's ninja moves, or it doesn't exist ;)

I made a ramp out of 12' wide pine shelving for my German Shepard. It didn't work. My dog had trouble with it being too narrow and she couldn't get traction. So a pine board ramp alone is not enough

My next try will be to tack some carpet on to it to correct the traction problem and then see if I can get her trained to use it.

We had a ramp that was great for getting our 13 YO (80# Black Lab) into the back of my wife's Outback.

You are right. The Glad's doors don't open far enough for a ramp (at least ours).

The pooch got used to being lifted and manhandled into the back seat for 18 months until he passed. At 13 YO, I wasn't going to invest a lot in search of a solution. Just lift the dog gently under the chest, set in backseat and don't stress. The dog will love the ride and that will make up for any minor / temporary discomfort.

YMMV.

I’ve got a large German Shepard that’s having issues getting into the backseat of my gladiator since the door doesn’t open very far. This is my first Jeep so I’m not sure what good solutions there are. All help is appreciated
I have an old English sheepdog who is 97lbs. Stubborn dog. I had a ramp for my Wrangler but it will not fit in door opening of the Gladiator. I have to lift his front paws up onto the seat then lift his a$$ up and in.
Getting him out is another thing !!! Dude only wants to come out on the drivers side and it’s lifting him out. He is a funny pup but a heavy dude.

I got this for my 11 year old Lab. She'll eventually need something better, stairs, but works for now.

We lift our 85lb Male Husky in and our 50lb Female Husky has hops and jumps in. I saw some cheap step ladders on Amazon if lifting them is not an option.
