Look at the Smittybilt Scout. We’ve had it for a while now and absolutely love it. We spent $7,300 brand new on it, not including the tent or stove. Here are a couple of pictures with tent deployed at camp, and in the driveway hooked up. It will take 37” tires without any mods, and the hub pattern matches the JT at 5x5.

thanks for posting this. Looks like you have some great feedback on the scout. I've been considering the scout, but have been concerned about the weight for it's size. Also, i have a roofnest Sparrow XL that i have considered relocating over to the Scout, but im thinking i will have to offset it on the trailer to allow room for the legs to attach without interfering with the fenders flares. The scout looks to be the perfect combo of size and storage ability and would make for and excellent base camp.
I run 37's and have 513 gears and manage a solid 18mpg and can touch 20mpg if i keep it at 65mph.
-What kind of economy are you seeing when you are loaded down?
-what speeds are you typically towing at? See any wondering at higher speeds?
-2200lbs is surprisingly heavy, i see that its empty weight is near 1500lbs so im guessing that's your trailer fully loaded with gear.
-What would you guesstimate your tongue weight is?
- i see youre in colorado per the plates and are vulnerable to salted roads. Im curious how the coating is holding up. Have you seen any oxidation/rust?
- did you have the suggested aligntment done after purchased (i understand 4WP does not do alignments and usually farms it out. Ive read they often skip the alignment step)

It’s a great trailer. For how solid it is, 2,200 is pretty light in my opinion. When we’ve got it loaded up, it’s probably around 3,000 or so, not including the tent and awning. It tows fine. It has a good amount of tongue weight. I’d guess 350. I can’t lift it. Not even a little. You’re not going to get great mileage on 37’s with 5.13’s, but it depends on speed. I have the same gearing and tire size. I tow it as fast as 80mph, but usually around 75. No issues with wandering. Since the tires on the trailer are k02’s, the speed isn’t a safety issue like with trailer tires. I did have it aligned. I was also the person who assembled it when it was new. I had it shipped to me disassembled in the crate. I’ve had no issues with corrosion whatsoever, but i also don’t use it in the winter.
