Has anyone enrolled in the Jeep Wave Jeep Adventure Academy? Is it worth it? I’m new to 4 wheeling and would like to learn from professionals.

Lots of folks on this forum have done it and it seems to generally positive reaction and a great way to learn what your jeep can do. Not cheap but you are paying for overhead (insurance etc...) for the JAA to run their events.

Similar reaction to the Jeep Jamborees .. Great way to meet people and they are great events (I've done a bunch over the years) but certainly more expensive than just heading out on your own.

Last year I signed up for the Adventure academy in Moab and had a blast as well as learned more about my gladiator. I just go approval to do the Rubicon trail with the academy because i do not have a Rubicon Gladiator, but a heavily modified Overland. the cost went up a lot this year over 200.00 dollars for the event. I have myself and two of my friends wanting to go with me so they can experience the trail. they do not own jeeps.

I want to do the one in NY. $500 is a lot but I’m new as well and it seems like a good crash course to learn.…hopefully without crashing.

I signed up for the one in NC, the way I view it is the $500 and learning more about my rig from someone who does it a lot and is willing to spend the time to teach me is cheap insurance. Cause I know if I went out as a new to off-roading and tried a random trail without knowing the limitations of the truck, either the truck would get some damage from the trail or I would just pass on the trail to avoid the damage and stick to the easier trails/forest roads.

I went to the one in Hollister last year, it was a great experience. You get great spotting, they go over everything your Jeep can do and really shows you what its capable of. The staff are really nice too, they were also giving my girlfriend spotting lessons and explaining in detail, the thought process when spotting. The lunch was awesome as well.

While the price went up, I noticed this year they say you can bring as many passengers as you have seatbelts. Last year if I remember correctly the 375-395 was for two people and you had an additional fee for more occupants. Its still a great experience and i will be signing up for the Rubicon trail ride this year.

I tried to sign up for the NY one but put on a waiting list...
No doubt will be attended by mostly angry grill Jeep guys...

It has been my experience that if you find a local Jeep club online via Facebook or whatever else people are using these days, you will find a better group of people who are willing to help you learn ON the trails at the price of free.

It is a really good time. Very friendly people (at least the ones in Michigan) and they do a nice job if your brand new into Jeeps.
With that said, it looks like its getting more and more expensive every year. 2021 it was $250. Last year was $350, now they want $500. They don't offer a Michigan one this year, but even if they did and I was a newbie Jeeper, I'd probably pass for $500 price tag.
