Yes, I totally agree. I think it's just journalists trying to be concise, and maybe not being as detailed as we might expect. The autoblog article does say "anything that is optional on the rubicon will come standard on the launch edition" - that's sort of how I've understood it. I'm hoping that's the case.

For comparison, I used the spreadsheet @RTDNECO posted here and I'm getting roughly $63,620 for a fully loaded rubicon.

If the Launch Edition is not actually a fully loaded Rubicon, then it's not worth the cost for sure. I would also just do a custom order and get my Sting Gray!

However, If it is a fully loaded Rubicon, then it is a slamin' deal.

Yeah, I'm in the same ballpark with my spreadsheet. If you look at MSRP before destination, that's basically the price they are advertising.

I sort of think the hard top should be less than the JL (less material behind the rear seat), but also assuming JL pricing for now. And they may up-charge for the wheels. Was looking at the dual top, but probably can pick up a soft top later.

I'm also assuming/hoping that when Jeep turns the order over to the local dealer, the dealers will honor the same pricing/discounts (I've sent and e-mail to Kent @ Peterson to confirm, but he may not know anything until the dealer conference call Monday). I'm not paying $61k MSRP for this, but would jump at 7% under invoice. I may start the process Thursday and see what pricing I end up with before committing.
One other thing. Both the Trailer Tow (ABR) and Cargo Management/Trail Rail (CMD) packages include a 240A alternator, so there is probably a cost savings in there when both packages are ordered together.

The more I look at this, it's gotta include just about every option (even if they aren't listed in the FCA press release).

Showed my wife the granite on a JLU at a local dealer's web site. She likes it better than Gobi, so we may have a winner. Will drop by the dealer Monday to see granite in person.

Dang, and I need to visit a client in SLC late May/early June. I could totally see a Boise-SLC-Moab-AZ-SoCal trip on it's maiden voyage home if timing lines up!:like:

I'm gonna try to get one too. I am a red guy so my favorite color is covered. My wife and I are already planning a driving trip through the Southwest US this summer. A new Gladiator would really make the trip a hit.

Yes. I was trying to remember the example of features that crossed packages. But yea, we’ll see on Monday.

My wife and I are driving to Acadia National Park in late May. Yes, that would be an awesome trip in the gladiator.

Talking with my wife, Sting Gray may win out, if so, it will be a custom order for me. We’re gonna go look at a billet silver JL today or tomorrow to make a final decision.

No I think they postponed it due to lack of interest.
This is all fake. They're only making enough Gladiators for these forum members then they're retooling to make Mopar riding lawn mowers.

My wife shared her opinions on color. She was commenting how it doesn’t make sense the Jeep would only offer the five colors for the Launch edition.

She feels like Gobi, Gator and Sting Gray are such special colors. Like the iconic Jeep colors. Especially Gobi and Gator. So a special edition should be available in special colors.

I agree with her.

Yeah while I was at the dealer i test drove a nice loaded rubi wrangler jl... the ride was very nice (this was my first time driving a wrangler and i was pleasantly surprised). I'm only that much more excited for the gladiator now.

I’m planning a test drive late next week at Jim Marsh. Did you happen to drive a hard top version and drive > 60 mph? I’ve been stalking the sister site and loose steering and road noise were my top concern.

It was a hard top, no headliner. I didn't drive on the highway, I got up to about 45. Disclaimer I had all the windows down and it was very nice.
