You can't sell vehicles that have quality issues that dealerships refuse to address or fix. I think they need to focus more on quality and workmanship. You can charge higher prices if the vehicle is worth it. Look at Toyota, Didn't see Toyota lowering prices...hmmm.
What quality issues? What workmanship problems?

Well on another thread that showed that 2024 builds were now live, I mentioned how now I’d have to be on the Mojave X and at like 65k, when just late 2020 I paid less than 50k. So news of them dropping price means nothing to me since they raised it so high. Probably just now dropping to a more ‘normal’ price.
I agree. I paid $54,000 for my new 2021 Rubicon. I look at the prices now even with this "discount" their much too high.

The truck is great but to me it's still a "toy" car. I suspect they will begin heavily discounting towards the end of the year again when the on-lot inventory balloons.

Also, competition like the new Land Rover. The Jeep branding still carries but not at these prices.

I'm still not sold on electric vehicles and of course their prices are astronomical in comparison even though their prices are falling as well.

I would rather buy the new Tacoma at that price. With a lift 35s will go on and it will drive better . The X in Canada is going to be 80k plus .....what are they smoking
I went from driving Jeeps to Toyota Tacomas from 2008 - 2022. My last Tacoma was a 2019 model Tacoma TRD PRO and I absolutely hated it (but kept it for 5 years). I switched back to Jeep and got a 2023 Gladiator Rubicon Diesel since Jeep started back making trucks. The solid front axle makes a world of difference when going off-road and Jeep's 4WD systems work much better than the Tacoma's. I don't think I'll ever buy another Toyota Truck. You might want to reconsider thinking that the Tacoma is a viable option if you actually go off-road any at all.

I go off road all the time with mine and I don't know what issues you are talking about. Tires and knowing how to drive will get you anywhere. Also the kind of wheeling I do where I live in Canada isn't hard-core rock crawling . The reason I was here was due to the fact I hate my 3rd Gen comfort but it sounds like they fixed the seats and that hybrid power coming is going to be ridiculous.

If the new hybrid Tacoma was available at the end of last year, I’d probably be driving that.
I wish I could understand why so many people insist on comparing the JT to a Tacoma. A Tacoma is a truck first while a JT is a wrangler first then converted to a truck. If you don’t takeoff the doors, or top, or fold down the windshield, or off-road (you know, wrangler/JT stuff) why the hell ever purchase one of these??? As far as I can tell, they’re less insulated, noisy, below average driving dynamics especially at highway speeds, and just okay on towing and other truck stuff. I absolutely love my JTRD but it’s really not a good comparison to a truck with a solid roof built from the ground up to be a truck. Of course there will be depreciation, even more so in a crowded market (Tacoma, frontier, Ranger, canyon, etc). Our gladiators are not “trucks” in the traditional sense and have a much smaller market than any of us want to admit which is driving the depreciation. Most people don’t want or don’t care to do the “Jeep” stuff above. The Gladiators are lifestyle vehicles, like the wrangler, not practical. The Tacoma too will depreciate but they have a huge share of the market which slows depreciation.
I saw the comment about real estate depreciation which doesn’t make sense. If we all wanted to control depreciation on vehicles we would only buy highly collectible ones (ya know really old cars). If you want low depreciation you have to pay to play. You will need to buy one that is highly sought after and quickly flip it because most likely you will have bought it above MSRP before production was in full swing. JTs are not that vehicle.
All this to say, enjoy what you have…or don’t and get rid of it. If you’re worried about depreciation you better get out now! Then go buy a collectible.

They may have reduced the base price, but with the way they force you into packages, then couple the packages, you still end up buying more than you want or need. I just built one comparable to my 2020, and the MSRP is $8k more than I paid back then. Inflation sucks.
I repriced my Rubicon last week and there is a 25.9% price difference on MSRP’s. Knocking off $1700 isn’t going to move the needle enough to make a difference. Yes I know that there are some “improvements” but not that many. It was interesting to read that Stelantis had the largest average Selling price of the major manufacturers.

Fortunately I’ll be keeping the Glad for many years…

You have to consider their vehicle line-up. You can't just say "they had the highest prices" and drop it at that. The target audience is also right up there on top.
Other companies aim for more entry level stuff in some cases.
You also must consider that on purpose, Toyota doesn't put the latest tech and engineering into their vehicles - it helps keep their initial complaints down low. There's a reason Toyota has the reputation they have - it's not necessarily the best, it's that they never release anything on the bleeding edge. They play "safe". Where are the biggest complaints? Infotainment, electronics. Where is Toyota always a year or two behind? Infotainment, electronics.
Toyota is the company that bought Teslas to take them apart and see how things were made, manufacturing processes and so on - it's easy to talk quality when you are talking last year's stuff being sold this year.

Like this statement. Go to the wrangler site and 4runner comparison loses steam at 3 pages while people on here drag out comparing the gladiator to a damn ridgeline. haha
