What do you think, specifically, can happen to "expedite" the order? Vehicle production is one of the most complex, heavily regulated, and unionized process on the planet. Your Jeep is a number in a database, and that database assigns it to move from one step to the next without any human oversight or control. Recently the Jeep was moved to another vendor where it has a new number and is in a new (shipping) database. Of course everyone involved wishes you had your vehicle months ago, but if you researched this process beforehand you probably saw that: a) production times vary wildly for reasons that are generally opaque to buyers; b) shipping times vary wildly for reasons that are generally opaque to buyers; and c) Jeep Cares (which is not a concierge service no matter how much this forum wants it to be) and your dealer have little to no control over any part of the timeline...the truck arrives when it arrives.

In other words there is no priority list to move up; Koons put the order in and that's pretty much the full extent of what they can do, they're just humoring you to get you off the phone with the "expedited" talk.

I know many people here don't order Jeeps and like the immediacy and personalized service that comes from buying local dealer inventory, even if it costs more. But I'm disappointed that so many people in the Ordering subforum think there's "something fishy going on" (what exactly??) or that the dealership owes the OP anything or will negotiate any sort of further discount.

Koons orders more Jeeps in a week than most dealers sell in a year. Yes they take deposits...they aren't going to "handshake" on 100 emails from randos across the US every day lol. Their orders are already deeply discounted, there is no fat to be trimmed. Of course if there are incentives at the manufacturer level that can adjust the price but otherwise this is an assembly line operation.

I don't understand it either but I think it's 2/3 buyers just struggling to understand how large corporations work (people with stories like "the plumber kept delaying installing the fixtures in my new house so I told him I was going to find someone else and that made him show up the very next day" who think that process can scale up to multinational corporations) and 1/3 on dealers who don't set expectations well because they want to keep customers happy and get them off the phone.

Oh, and Jeep Cares should include a note in every message that "We are purely an information resource. All we can do is pass along information from our computer systems, we have no ability to verify any data and even less ability to mandate any action by Stellantis or your local dealer."
Pretty well said.

I think the internet era has skewed peoples expectations of custom ordering a vehicle in relation to build and shipping times. Too much worrying about why somebody half a country away who ordered after you, got theirs first.

I think this forum is interesting and some just don't understand how it works once your Jeep is ordered. Everything noted about ordering written here is correct. Once ordered it is out of the dealers hands until it shows up. It is out of JeepCares' hands as well. Dealers have NO control or say to the factories. Dealers have NO control over shipping. They have logistics that have to be followed.

My brothers JL 392 Rubi took 1 month to get. It was built fairly quick after order 3-4 months. It then had to go off factory lot for additional mods. It sat there for another 4 months. Once done there it went to a staging area.... the half doors were not in and they would not ship until they showed up. Apparently they have to ship complete 100%. It sat on the transport lot 25 miles from dealership for 3-4 weeks. We saw it but could not get it.

My suggestion.... Patience Patience Patience!!!

Maybe they should join Jeep Prime.
Free 2 day shipping - unless it's delayed and then it's free 4 day shipping, unless it ends up in the Bondurant facility and instead of going 30 minutes south to be delivered, it goes up to the Twin Cities, then back into Des Moines and then to Ankeny and then to.........................

Anyway, agree, and after seeing some of the articles Iv'e been seeing lately about entitlement, I want it now, I deserve it now, and worse, it's just going to get worse for a while.
Look at what TikTok has done - a company with clever marketing skills used that platform to boost sales of a product to stupid proportions, even making it a contest or race to see who could get theirs first. The product isn't really extraordinary - but social mediocre raised the demand to stupid levels with challenges and unrealistic expectations.
You grab your phone - you get instant results. Order something on Amazon and have it next day.
Freddie Mercury was a few decades too soon when he sang 'I want it all, and I want it now' as that's what social mediocre has made people these days. Entitled and instant gratifications. Send a text and get pissed if you don't get a response in 2 minutes. How DARE they!
It's so bad that in Korea, if you are talking among a group of friends, a normal conversation going on, everyone participating, if your phone rings and you do not answer it then and there, you are considered to be rude. It used to be the opposite - face to face was priority, phone calls next when you could get back to them.
Now no one will even leave a bloody message! If they can't talk to you NOW, forget it. Text is even worse.

There's a lot more important stuff to deal with, think about, worry about.......

There are times, you can almost figure an age group by the amount of patience, and what is demanded.

I wish we could sticky this post to the ordering section.

We all want what we want and we want it now!

Or at least quicker than a full calendar year.
Lol I didn’t read the original thread… you are getting close to a year which is crazy. I bet the second clutch recall + strikes really didn’t help.

I think my wait time was like 3ish months and that had me feeling antsy and bugging Jeep Cares every day.

Did you get a very special spec or deal? I’d imagine you could have gotten a killer deal on a left over Mojave and probably still can, at least one sitting on a dealer lot.

That's about how long it took for a RAM and a Wrangler ordered in 2021, late summer. They came in when mine did, early July 2022.

I recall being "impatient" back in 1984. I ordered my 2nd brand new car. 2 months passed and the dealer was even getting impatient and called trying to talk me into a similar one off the lot. No, we wanted that color, those options, that car.
The car was so popular the company had to add another shift and work 24 hours and was still falling behind.
3 months to get a new car. That was just plain CRAZY! Unheard of back then. No way, no one ever waited that long! Customers and dealers were going nuts.

A similar situation happened with a big UAW strike in I believe it was 1969 - threw not only orders off, but the car makers, not quite as automated as today, were suffering, substituting parts, doing whatever it took to try to survive. It really threw off the 1970 model year as far as sometimes not having what you think that car should have for that build date.

Now they are already taking of a delivery and logistics nightmare once again on getting things or getting things for things because some shippers are refusing to go through a certain body of water, pulling ships.
That coupled with some other stuff going on, welcome to the new normal.
As Debbie Harry sang - hurry up and wait.

The recall and strike didn’t help. Koons has been good trying to help but bottom line is, they can only do so much.
I ordered a pretty much loaded 6MT Mojave. Hard to find something similar that’s worth jumping on.

Not so sure that being an MT wasn't a major player in this - wasn't there a freeze on new MT builds for a while?
Has the problem actually been resolved - fully?
Unless they have fully resolved the issue with a solid clutch that can handle high torque, count me out. (besides, I can't tow what I tow with one anyway)

Yes. It was a major issue for timing. The clutch issue was remedied months ago.

As frustrating as it is I would wait. You've come this far and seem so close it would be a shame to throw it all out the window and start over. I am very convinced that once you get your 6MT Mojave you will be very pleased and eventually feel that it was worth the wait.
