I have seen oil that had a sample taken every 5,000 miles (Mobil one synthetic) and according to black stone analysis at 20,000 miles the oil was still good, no abnormal particles or traces, and still had enough packages left to go another round… right before the car hit 25,000 miles on that oil it was crashed. It got a new filter every 5,000 and topped off to keep it full. YMMV but synthetic oil will go a lot further than most think. I wouldn’t recommend that procedure unless you are having samples checked every 5k thoughWhat mileage is everyone getting their first oil change? The engineers say to use the oil life indicator, some say sooner. Synthetic should easily be good up to 10,000 miles / 1 year, right?
Since I didn't drive that many miles for the first year, I used my wave changes early - doesn't matter if it's 500 miles or 5000 miles, as long as it falls in the time period the wave changes are good for. Do it as often as you like. Will jeep wave free oil change be an issue if I am still at like 38% percent of my oil life? My tires need the free rotation, and many people recommend changing the oil before its life is maxed out. So i would like to just get both done.
