Hi guys,

Just put 37’s on my 23 Gladiator Rubicon M6. Everything was perfect. Purchased and installed JL Mini yesterday, specifically for tire size and gears that are going in next week. Updated tire size, everything looked great - drove around town little bit.

When I jumped on freeway, all kinds of warnings popped up. Remote start disabled (no big deal) but the ones that were really concerning - clutch hot, and transmission service. Lost all power in all gears when the transmission warning came on, barely made it back home.

Could this just be a coincidence, or something that the JL mini messed up? Messing with it in the driveway, unable to get transmission service warning to go away. Unmarried removed JL Mini, transmission warning still there and truck is still not running right. Not super concerned, still under warranty - set appt for Monday

Given the timing of issue, wondering if it had to do with installation of JL Mini? Super easy to install, seemed to be working great, then this.

Wondering if anyone else has had this issue. Did I get one that is defective?

After dealer addresses issue, Leary about installing again. ….

Thank you.

Did you update the firmware in the Tazer before installing it?

Did you follow the website instructions and the procedures outlined?

If you only need it for the tire size changes, Jscan is a better option, and much less expensive.

Do you still have the stock wheels and tires? If so, put them back on before going to the dealer.

Confirmed latest version of Tazer Software. Watched multiple videos and followed directions. Only thing I updated was tire size. Annoying.

I am pretty confident it has to do with the Tazer. Maybe some kind of glitch or something. Too coincidental that issue happened day after I installed.

Thinking Jscan might be better option. It can update gears too, correct? Those are the only functions that I really want/need.

Unfortunately I don’t have stick wheels or tires. Hopefully dealer won’t try to jack me because of that.

Always something….

Be meticulous when using the Tazer. Wheels straight, brake off, flat surface. Make sure you save the new settings and perform the two sleep cycles. Read very carefully their “critical” page. It’s easy to get mixed up When you first start using it.

Thank you for info!!! Still debating using it after dealer fixes warning tomorrow. Might just have them update tire size and be done with it.

Going to be there anyways, going to hook up to check and clear code right. Maybe update tire size for no cost? lol … I know, probably wishful thinking.

*IF* you can get them to program the tire size, it will be expensive. Beings you're in CA. expect around $300.

Ridiculous. Wow.
If that is the case might try JScan. Pretty cool what Tazer can do, but maybe less is more? …. All I really want / need to update is tire size and gears. I would be happy if I can do that and not mess anything else up. ?

Having truck in limo mode, not drivable for a couple days is super frustrating.

I also have my doubts that the Tazer is at fault. As someone else mentioned, unmarrying and removing would basically reset your truck to defaults. Sounds like you've got something more going on, perhaps something else that happened while working on the truck.
