Specifically for the JTR I picked up a 9000# tow rope from HF. Mulling over the synthetic line 12,000# Badlands APEX. For $499 it seems like a decent deal. It reviews well on the You Tube.

I have a Hercules miter saw and it kicks ass, at least equal to the DeWalt I use at work.

I like the midrange in price impact sockets, extensions and adapters. No problems with them.

HF is sorta like a candy store to me, it is nice to browse even if not looking for anything particular.

Great thread. Glad to hear about the Apex winch. I'll have to give it a try.

Lower priced, better rated shackles are available from a major on-line retailer...
That may be true but I walked into HF and got all of my recovery gear in one place and my total spend was far lower that going on line and spending time working to save a few pennies. I went in, got it all and was home installing it in 45 minutes(beat that Amazon). I'll put my Apex 12k winch up against anything out there regardless of price.

Lower than $10 for 3, that's what I paid for the three on my JKU, which are now on my JT. A little paint and they are good as new.

I also have some jackstands that although the finish wasn't perfect and there's some rust starting, they seem solid and I've used them for 3 years now.
I guess you checked them after the recall. I will say I really didn't have an opinion much on them until that recall. I mean how does a jackstand(dead nuts simple and people trust them with their LIVES for godsake) get recalled? But sure I guess it can happen but when the replacement ones were also recalled that's unacceptable.

I have two Predator generators that work great and a US General tool chest. A dozen other hand tools as well.

My old trusty HF 12v air compressor. It’s slow and loud, but has aired me back up more times than I can count. Not ideal for the 37s, but will still get the job done with patience.

You get what you pay for. I do use some HF stuff but treat it as potential one-time use. I have several jacks but I never trust them and use multiple redundancies.

Specific to the JT, the bolts mounting the front seats to the floor are torx head bolts. To remove these (for example mounting an air compressor under the passenger seat), you need an E12 torx socket. HF sells a set of torx sockets for $10.

When I looked last night, they wanted $9.99 ea. for the shackles.
Found a pair on Amazon (in black) for $15, with isolators & spacers.

They regularly have a coupon where you can get them for $3 a piece, that's what I used a few years ago. My brother in law used a coupon for them in Sept and got them two for $7

That's still a great price for them though, with isolators.
