I recently purchased my JT Overland with stock tires. I am searching for something more aggressive looking but still a relatively easy ride. As much as I would love to off road every weekend I am a primarily a city driver. Any suggestions/thoughts on a tire that gives me the aesthetic without a rough ride?

I have not had them, but thinking of getting Continental Terrain Contact A/T.

Thank you for the recommendation Alabama Mud Machine. We appreciate your support.

InThe440, There are many good tire options these days, which tire is right for you depends on how and where you drive and what you are looking for in your next set of tires.

PM coming your way.

Unlike others on here who never look and see where someone lives before recommending MT tires, I see that you live in Cleveland, OH where you get the lake effect snow and ice. I know this because I have family that has lived there for over 50 years. The last thing you want is an MT tire. You should look at the BF Goodrich KO2 or other tires that have the mountain snowflake symbol. Cooper Discoverer AT3 4S is a nice AT and also the Cooper Discoverer AT3 XLT. General Grabber ATX is nice and is pre-drilled for studs. And there's others I can't think of right now.

Toyo AT3 is another that was designed for better rain and ice traction. I had the Toyo AT2 and they wore and rode great. I’ll probably buy another set of Toyos..........when/IF my lift ever gets delivered and installed haha

This is what I'm planning on when it's time to replace my factory Overland tires. Right now, only $143 each.

Thank you for pointing that out. I should have mentioned in my post that I do live east of Cleveland in the lake effect snow belt and get a ton of snow. Thanks for the recommendations.

Hi there! New JTO owner here too. I am looking for similar setup. I'm keeping it close to stock with suspension used mostly tow and toad condition with ability to tackle western dirt trails and east coast sand beaches. Don't know your budget..As for me I'm leaning Bridgestone Dueler Revo3. Slightly beyond stock size on stock rims. Better for towing and being towed. Check out comparo video at Tire Rack between 4 tires with Dueler Revo3 being one of them. Chevy Suburban on snow track Revos came out on top. Plus road manners are said to be excellent on wet or dry pavement. Bonus for me. I am avoiding anything with huge treadblocks. I experienced mud terrains on wet pavement...not good. And not too good in snow either.
Nitto Terra Grapplers are nice on road..I have driven them recently. Can't say wet manners will be good, because I was on dry street. Very Quiet considering size (37in) but price might be beyond the budget.
A lot of choices. check out reviews.

Those came OEM on my Canyon All Terrain. They aren’t bad tires, but they wore out fast. They were down to the wear bars and I replaced them at 29k miles with The Continental A/Ts referenced above. The wet traction was bad after 50% wear. The Continentals were way better tires all around. They wore better, were quieter, it handled and tracked noticeably better and they had much better wet traction. All of that compared to when my goodyears were new. That’s a good deal, and they aren’t necessarily bad tires, but definitely not the best available.

probably the very best tire for your use case, followed by the general grabber ATX, Toyo ATIII, YOKOHAMA XAT

I ended up going with the Nitto Terra Grapplers as I too was mainly focused towards on-road performance.

I second the BFG KO2. I have them, great on road, absolutely silent and also have never let me down offroad. Additionally, they are fairly light compared to most other tires in the same size.
