15 mpg. Sport Max, 2.5" level, 35's M/T, aftermarket bumper, no aero dams. Pretty much killed any aerodynamics, but I didn't get the JT for mpg

Round trip from San Jose to Avenal this past weekend, mountains 60mph and highway 75mph, averaged 14mpg.

Well when a ship has its mainsail up it's gonna catch some wind.......... the JT - it's not aerodynamic anyway.
Bet you caught a bit more wind with that rigging - but you bought it to use as a truck, not win some government contest for MPG.

Interesting... Running stock Rubicon wheels and tires on stock suspension with 1 inch spacers front and back...

I was getting about 17.1 around town, which is most of my driving, and just about 19.8 on the Freeway/Expressways..

After I did my first oil change at 6,500 miles, I picked up about .9 around town and almost a full 1 MPG on the freeway..

Doesn't really make sense, but maybe getting the break in oil out and new good oil in made a difference...

It is definitely noticeable I'm getting better mileage with only changing the fluids and filters...

The "break-in" oil is simply the first oil, not "different". It's not like the 1950s and prior where they wanted a non-detergent oil used.
Of course we don't know exactly WHAT oil you put in compared to the oil that the factory used as far as viscosity.
We also don't know if the average temperature changed over time, other factors, relative humidity, and so on.

All these variations in numbers feels more like people shouting out their favorite number than actual mpgs lol

I've had the Falken A/T Rubicon take-offs on my Overland long enough to see now that they have dropped my MPG by a little bit. I'm definitely not doing as well as I was. But then, the other tires, the Bridgestone Duellers were more narrow, rolled easier with the smaller footprint and less aggressive tread. It makes sense - and it follows that Jeep put the tires that would yield better MPG if even by only a few tenths on the model they aimed at highway drivers and cruisers, not off-roaders.

Agree, unless you're gps verified speedo correct and hand calculate mileage then good luck getting accuracy. Maybe new thread to start with title appropriate. "Mileage Thread, gps corrected/hand calculated"? As just reading the dash isn't going to be accurate at all. From factory my sport s had tire height input of 32.24" for actual measured 31" tire height...then the calculator in the jeep itself will vary up to a mpg optimistic if you don't hand calculate miles to gallons actual.

The numbers i provided were gps corrected hand calculated if you need some more accurate to go by for a 6 speed, 3.73 on 35's. ;) City Winter Tank at 16.1 u.s. mpg, or 14.6 l/100km. Oh...ess disabled from day 1.

I suspect anyone that's positing above 17 is resetting their mpg going downhill with the wind behind you and only looking for the first 5 seconds.

I have 3” lift over 35” tires. Disable the ESS. 218-lbs of front bumper and winch.

I had my computer recalibrated for the 35” tires at the dealer. My GPS and speedo read the same all the time, except when going up or down steep inclines, which is expected.

My trip meter generally tells me I’m getting 3.5% (about 0.5 mpg) higher than I’m actually getting—so far, fairly consistently.

I usually get around 17 mpg for an entire tank that involves a mix of local highway and stop-and-go traffic. At 70+ mph, I generally get about the same.

I can get a lot more over long stretches of highway if there is no heavy traffic and I’m going between 55 mph and 65 mph.

I have a 16.2-mile stretch of urban highway that I have used as a benchmark test mpg run for years on various vehicles when traffic is low and there are no significant winds. It’s mostly level with slight ups and downs. I zero the tripometer after I get up to speed and when I reach a certain mile-marker.

A couple of weeks ago, averaging 52.3 mph (ranging from 40 to 65 mph), I got 23.6 mpg on a that stretch.

A couple of days ago (averaging 56.3 mph), I got 23.4 mpg.

I never actually get that kind of mileage in real-world driving because I’m generally either going much faster or engaged in more stop-and-go traffic. But I think that stretch is a good benchmark test.

FWIW I largely ignore the value on my cluster -- I calculate my mpg via an app on my phone, I just fill in the mileage and fuel amounts on fill-ups. On my trips I use a Garmin GPS and didn't see any discrepancies with my speedo. Seems like it does fine on the highway (~21 for me), and does poorly in stop+go and short distances between lights/stop signs (~13.5 for me). Over 114.389 gallons of gas and and 2015 miles I'm averaging 17.6mpg combined.

So I have ran through one whole tank of gas so far and I am getting 18.5MPG... this is 100% city driving.
Not bad so far, i think ill be able to get 19 - 20 once i get some more miles on it.
I am sitting at 13-15 MPG's, Rubicon specs, 33" wheels, no additional lift. Envious of everyone sitting at 18+ MPG's. I have about 2600 miles on it. Not sure why my MPG's are so much lower than most of you.
