it would likely be more accurate to not watch the computer...

for u.s. mpg, easy just take miles divided by gallons (for us moose lovin syrup makin toque wearin northerners that go by liters per 100km gotta do liters x 100 divided by kms)

i just take a pic of the fuel pump when done filling up and my trip meter on the dash and hand calculate later

reason why is the onboard computer can easily vary by 5% in accuracy, then combine that with an odometer that maybe isn't calibrated properly...ie; out 2 mph at 75 mph

most of the mileages posted in this thread can be taken with a grain of salt, good or bad, they likely up to 10% out more often than not

ie; my sport s was programmed from jeep for what i believe is rubicon tire height(diameter) setting of 32.24" when my actual tire height was 31", i assumed by that and another comment here from a sport that put rubi tires on and his speed went to bang on from being off by 2 mph at 75...that every single gladiator is getting programmed the same from factory regardless of what tires actually on the model...so you're going to get most accurate mileage readings from stock rubicon owners fyi, at least then you're only looking at the onboard computer calculation variance of up to 5% per tank

I don'y, I use fuelio to track all trips and calculate by odometer.

i'm unfamiliar with app fuelio, i'm sure it's math is sound, your inputs however...jeep comes already with some variances to be aware of, so if speedometer and odometer are correct you'll be good to go

For what it is worth. I have about 70o miles on my JTR. Stock Rubi suspension and tires. Has many weighty mods on it already, dual battery kit, winch, steel front bumper, tools and recovery kit under 2nd row seat, etc. Averaging about 15-16mpg.

Speedo is close to spot on. I was getting maybe 1mph variances between GPS and the speedo at 80.

I need to stop checking in on this thread. I feel like the 5.7 could pretty much replicate these numbers, lol. The JT is pretty darn heavy . . . and then mods/towing.

Second fill up (around town) 13.9, Third fill up (all highway) 13.7... fourth fill up (same highway route back) 17.91. No idea whats going on there. I used 5th a lot more than 6th driving back. Not sure if the motor did some calibration during that drive or what but the mpgs seem to have jumped up. Stock 6mt Rubicon.
13.7 seems pretty darn low. My 2010 JKU on 35's with 4-1/4" lift and 3:73 gears got better gas mileage than that. If I was getting anything under 15 I'd be second guessing my purchase.

I agree, something was off. I'm all corrected on 2" mopar with 35's and last four tanks winter city driving averaging low 15's mpg...that's my worst case aside from towing. I drive with a heavier foot, left lane, gtf out of my way so...

Just did a 200 mile highway trip staying around 65 - 70 mph and got 15.7 at the pump. (div gals into miles) I'm running 35's on an auto Rubicon. Wheels are -12 offset so they're about 1" out past fenders. Truck only has 500 miles on it

Over 4000 km's on my truck (2500 miles)
2" mopar on 315 70r17's (35" x 11.5")
Sport S, 6-speed, 3.73
Speedo calibrated to gps at 80 mph, tazer jl mini setting required, 34.44"
Magnaflow street series exhaust, side exit

Last 4 tanks, winter driving, almost all city:

15.4 l/100 = 15.27 mpg (city/hwy 90/10%)
15.37 l/100 = 15.3 mpg (city/hwy 90/10%)
15.17 l/100 = 15.5 mpg (city/hwy 90/10%)
15.65 l/100 = 15.0 mpg (100% city)

Average 15.4 l/100 = 15.27 mpg

I tend to drive left lane and push the pace.
I edited this to show nearly all city driving tanks and added my last tank which was 100% city.

So I have been reading a bunch about the 3.6 pre-detonation on 87 gas, which will absolutely cause MPG loss. FCA calls it "normal", but pre-detonation should never occur. Anyone done any testing on 87 vs 91/93? I intend to run my next tank on 93. I read the compression ratio is 11.3:1, which is well into premium gas territory.

15.0 mpg for my Rubicon on 35's with 4.56 gears, almost all city driving so far. 1,300 miles on the odometer.

I was running for about 4 fillups on premium 93, just assumed it required it. Found out last week it did not and last two fill-ups were 87 instead of the 93 and going into this cycle mines getting a little better gas mileage than it was on premium. It jumped from 15.2 up to 15.6 doing the same driving and same routes I do 95% of the time 5 days a week. I'll be running 87 going forward unless someone tells me why I shouldn't and can validate it.
