it would likely be more accurate to not watch the computer...
for u.s. mpg, easy just take miles divided by gallons (for us moose lovin syrup makin toque wearin northerners that go by liters per 100km gotta do liters x 100 divided by kms)
i just take a pic of the fuel pump when done filling up and my trip meter on the dash and hand calculate later
reason why is the onboard computer can easily vary by 5% in accuracy, then combine that with an odometer that maybe isn't calibrated properly...ie; out 2 mph at 75 mph
most of the mileages posted in this thread can be taken with a grain of salt, good or bad, they likely up to 10% out more often than not
ie; my sport s was programmed from jeep for what i believe is rubicon tire height(diameter) setting of 32.24" when my actual tire height was 31", i assumed by that and another comment here from a sport that put rubi tires on and his speed went to bang on from being off by 2 mph at 75...that every single gladiator is getting programmed the same from factory regardless of what tires actually on the model...so you're going to get most accurate mileage readings from stock rubicon owners fyi, at least then you're only looking at the onboard computer calculation variance of up to 5% per tank
