JT tailgate weight?

Shipping weight per Quadratec for the replacement of just the shell is 20lbs. I assume the whole assembly, with latches, lights, etc, can't be more that 40lbs-50lbs

Thanks buddy! It is surprisingly very light. Not a major factor in weight savings.

Either way. I (and the dogs) stay the hell away from them. I have been able to identify them as they fly around. If I see one, I head inside. By the way, they are New Mexico's state insect.

For the response about the tailgate weight, I just thought I would send in the pic of the tarantula hawk I killed in the back yard. That is one of the biggest of wasps that I have seen....

First one I ever saw was Santa Barbara. It's a definite 'wtf is that thing', they're huge... shimmery blue and striking orange wings.

@Alkapin ping me in a couple days. I have an Alu-Cab Canopy Camper, so my tailgate is in storage. I'm moving house and closing out the storage room so I'll try to bring the luggage scale with me. It's aluminum and not terribly heavy, maybe 30 lbs. Probably not enough to drive any big decisions, but more information is good

I had the tailgate out of storage today and weighed it - 27.54 lbs
