Any thoughts on replacing the front springs on a JTR with springs from a JTRD?
I was hit by another driver and it wrecked one side of my front suspension and I need to replace that spring. I have access to the diesel front springs but getting the gasser springs has been a challenge.

It's going to affect the ride somewhat, but should not be a big issue. If you have added weight (steel bumper or winch) to the stock configuration, it will be less noticeable. The diesel engine weighs about 400 pounds more, so the front springs are adjusted to compensate.

I say if you can get them fairly cheap, go for it. The Rubi gasser is undersprung, the Rubi oil burner is undersprung. They may work perfect for you.
Personally, I think they're the same springs with a different part number.

I do have the OEM steel bumper and winch. I was thinking it might reduce the front sag a bit.

I’m also adding a pop-up camper which will add to the overall weight.

In case anyone else is wondering and looks this up, the diesel springs are on the gasser. They seem to work fine. Driving it home 60 miles on the highway, it seemed to dip a little less on some sections of road that I’ve definitely felt in the past. Haven’t gone off-road with them yet but I don’t expect any issues.
