OK I Just got a good look at a black Rubicon Gladiator at the KC show, and have pretty much decided I am not a fan of the red stitching all over everything. Can anyone explain the options, if any to have something less annoying (to me)?
How did you feel about the length/dimensions seeing it in person?

Get the Dark Saddle seats. That's it.

I read 3 additional pages of comments JUST to see if anyone would comment on the “beer window”. What a fantastic auto-correct! Or, was it more of a Freudian slip?
That’s the term of art for the rear window in a pickup. It’s part redneck, part poking fun at redneck stereotypes, and part descriptive...

Retrofitting halogen housings with LED or HID is bad because LEDs have a single point of light transmittance as opposed to more of an area of glow. LED reflectors are nice because the reflector focuses the light to make it appear brighter and keep it out of oncoming drivers' faces. The reflector must be designed for one or the other else light will scatter too much and blind other drivers.
The JL LED housing looks like there is a low beam in a projector housing, and the high beam uses a reflector housing, im trying to confirm this in another thread in the lighting section.

I believe LED and HID low beam only use projector housings so they can focus the beam and has a built in cut off to not blind oncoming traffic. so I don't think they actually make LED reflectors for low beam, EVEN THOUGH, jeep advertises the LED headlights as LED reflectors.

If anybody knows something i said is wrong, please speak up. I'm trying to figure this out.

I hear you on the cold weather package - I have had thoughts about going with Katzkins leather and their Degree seat cooler/heaters to a) save a little $$ and b) get chilled seats in the summer, but the thought of having a heated steering wheel on 40* mornings when I drive topless is pretty tempting.

I’ll probably go katzkins because chilled seats on 110* days sounds amazeballs, and I can buy a lot of gloves with the ~$1000 I’d save.
holy carp. cooled seats? I need this. you just changed my whole outlook.

I stepped across the ‘boundary’ several times, everybody’s wound up about the bed depth but I Really liked that the top of the bed wasn’t eye-level. You could actually reach over & pick up something on the floor in the back.
As far as overall length, a person used to a 4door Wrangler would definitely notice it, but it didn’t seem to me like it would be awkward to park/navigate trails at all. I was impressed overall for sure = Jeep done Good!

That being said, until I can actually see the non-red stitching color i won’t be able to settle on my choice of options, I will be waiting for the diesel so I got plenty of time -

Does anyone have a picture of the hardtop with the freedom panels and front doors removed? I'm leaning towards the hard top because I plan to buy an aftermarket softtop once they figure out how to fold it all the way. I have three small kids so the rear doors will likely stay on even when the fronts are removed. Just trying to see what this would look like.

Don't think I've seen one with only the back doors on. Lots of pics with the hardtop and no doors though.

I have seen some pics on the JL forums in that configuration. Seems like it's fairly common for those with kids.

Sat in a JL Sahara w/ the tan/beige/saddle/buckskin quasi leather seats earlier this week. Not a fan of either the light leather color or the silver-ish stitching. Have been told the Gladiator 'dark saddle' leather will be different color but I'll believe it when I see it, and it will have very similar stitching.
I guess for me by comparison I could get used to the red stitching (NOT something I should be saying for such an expensive, personal purchase) It looks dated IMHO and they haven't even hit the showrooms yet.
