I just bought my Gladiator this week, how do I sign up for the wave deal?
Go to www.jeep.com

At the bottom of the main page under “Owners” you’ll see “Jeep Wave Owners Benefits”

Click on that and register your truck and you’re good to go!

I’ve had my Jeep for a few months and I’m still not sure if I’ve enrolled. I followed you link and it just signed me into the Mopar site and showed me the Jeep wave benefits/terms and conditions page. I never received anything from them either. Might have to put a call into them tomorrow to see what the deal is.

I appreciate the Jeep Wave offer on the oil change. I used it once but never again. I have opted for paying the delta for a preferred synthetic. I’ve done this for years with my JK. This time with my free oil change in the JT, the uplift for the oil was more than I would have paid retail for the oil and filter. Quick math indicates they charged me retail plus 25% and no credit for whatever oil they would have used. I politely remarked, “so that’s how much my Jeep Wave free oil change is gonna cost me?” The cashier smiled and referenced the ticket had “special synthetic oil” on it. I paid it with a smile, she doesn’t set policy.

like everything in life, your mileage may vary. If you find a good dealer / service department, give them a shout-out. I had a decent buying experience from this dealership when I bought my ‘12 JK and had decent service there for the first 5 years give or take. I remember things going sideways when the service writer said I needed a diff fluid change and they could do it with my oil change for $247 per axle. My first impulse was to laugh, then I thought I should be mad. I just declined saying I would do it myself. He then said the jeep was due for a rear axle alignment. Yes, a “rear axle alignment “ for a jk with stock control arms.

The decline at the dealership near me means the remaining 3 Jeep Wave oil changes will go unused. I’ll be doing all of my own from here on. My jk is past 100k miles so if the engine goes now, I smell a hemispheric coming I truly hope others have better luck than I have. And check your ride yourself after any service anywhere. Honest mistakes happen when working with upstanding people too.

You can always call your dealer and have them check. I dont remember if they sent me something in the mail but I got "JEEP" stickers to place in the upper corners of the windshield so its easy verification of JEEP WAVE when you pull into service. Might be part of the manual package with the JL.

So whats so different from the Syn the dealer uses and what you prefer...besides price? On older models they used DIno and I would request Mobil 1. but now Syn is default. I'll use the free until its time to do my own then use what Syn I prefer. And yes they do a 4 way alignment at times. Normal especially when you do a lift.

Yeah I was wondering the same thing as far as the oil goes. What's so special about his preferred oil. Hendricks is where I took my jku and where I'll be taking my JT until it's out of warranty then I got a guy I know personally who does my out of warranty work. Never been done wrong at Hendricks and they always have food and beverages for their customers. Not just snack food, most of the time a nice spread. Been dealing with them since a buddy of mine was the service manager there.

I’ve used Royal Purple for years. Personal preference and to support a local company. Taking a quick look at the dipstick to see the purple color which disappears after a while makes sure they did add new oil and it is the brand I wanted. Plenty of good oils out there, not trying to claim it’s the best.

This dealership has offered synth upgrades since I first got my ‘12 jk. They only charged for the cost delta. I’m more than willing to skip the freebies since the dealer changed their pricing.

Im curious how a a 4 way alignment can be done when I don’t have any adjustable components on the rear. I get that things can be measured, but if the thrust angle is off there are no adjustments they can make. I do not have adjustable control arms.

I'm with you on preferred oil. I am an Amsoil fan. But if there is free Syn changes I will use them until depleted which in this case is 4 oil changes within 2 years (at 5k). Royal Purple is a go to for racers especially but a Syn made for Chrys/Dodge/Jeep isnt anything to balk about. The other maintenance actions I usually do myself unless I absolutely cant. For older JK's, the dealer put in Dino and I always paid the uptick to Syn(which they claimed was Mobil 1). But most of the new vehicles take 0/20 syn now. May be different in the north.

Not sure as I didnt watch them but more than likely involves a shim or 2 if there is an alignment difference.

After signing in, check your garage to make sure the new JT is listed. If not, add it.

Yeah, I installed my lift and there is no adjustment and no place a shim could be added to the mix. That service writer was just trying to pad the ticket on something that did not apply to my vehicle. I’ve left way too much DNA underneath that JK to know better. Where is that bloody knuckle emoji when you need one...
