Key lock gas cap

Either someone try to break in or rain storm. Bought cap from auto zone.
Its weird cause I dont have the slightest clue. Put old cap back on. Light eventually went off.

Maybe a lower quality gas cap? Not sure. I have used the OEM Mopar locking gas cap for over 5 years now with no issues.

Yeah your probably right.it was only 20 something dollars.the mopar was alot more.thanks again.definitely gonna get mopar one.

I'd wager the autozone one has a slightly different pressure rating or something so it's making the truck think that the cap is off.

I didn't even know that was a thing the truck could sense, cool!

Yeah, it's definitely more expensive, but as a plus you code it to your Jeep key so no extra key needed.

Right on.but i took that key out fob,cause of commercial plumbing construction. Kept opening up in my pocket.

Awesome, my cap is the duralast brand. But I put it back on yesterday,no issues...weird. Like a weird hiccup. Idk..I just been having all kinds of issues with gladiator for over two years.Since i got into it. Oh well.

Easy fix.
Put a 1/4" piece of heatshrink on the key. It won't come out, even when you push the button. You have to push the button and lever it out with your fingernail, like a knife.

I bought this. It eliminated about 95% of the random pocket openings. The FOB only comes out of the pocket to unlock the gas cap.

Same problem with the key every time. Bought a cheap fob cover on amazon and never a problem since.
