Well it has been a few weeks since I picked it up from the repair and there are signs of fluid seepage again. Ugghh. Tbd if it is leaking again or just more residual oil from the first leak since the tech was too lazy to clean up the area during the repair and I had to do it once I got it home. Fingers crossed it is just more residual seepage from up behind the dust cover on the hub/rotor side where I can't reach with a rag. Really sad that a "trained tech" can't even be bothered to spend 1 minute cleaning up the area of a repair after a leak. No pride in their work, and not a single f was given. Just slap the parts on and mark it done. .....and people wonder why there is no way in hell I will take it in for the "free" jeep wave oil changes.
Hey, sdk131. Please keep us updated on whether or not it's a leak and if you need additional assistance we are in private message.

Will do....just cleaned it up very thoroughly and to be honest I am thinking it is leaking again. However, I want to give it a little time to be sure. This is truly a silly problem that should not be happening to any of us. I hope FCA has been looking into this, as it is going to just continue to cost you money on warranty repairs in addition to irritated customers. This has got to be a large batch of out of spec parts (maybe FCA or Dana switched gasket suppliers during the pandemic?) or some other systematic issue.

I ran into the same problem with the passenger rear axle on my 2021 Sport Max Tow, 3,500 miles

Build 12-20
MDH 122217

Confirmed by the Dealer, replaced the shaft a few days later.

I have an appointment next Tuesday to get mine looked at. Found the leak on the passenger rear while installing the Clayton 2.5 Overland Plus last weekend.

Hmmm yours says "axle cracked".
Anyone else's paperwork stating that? That would explain why one side is a problem if a bad batch of RR shafts

It’s the same seal used on both sides, and the Sport/Overland use the exact same shafts on both sides...

Max Tow Jeeps would have longer shafts. Now I need to look through this thread and see if they are involved.

Edit: Yes max tow, rubi and mojave all involved as well.

Yes. Mine's a Rubi and had that problem, in addition to the 'popping' noise when turning or backing up, which was not caused (apparently) by the cracked axle or seals.

Conmfirmed - still leaking after replacement. Probably 5 drops worth of fluid dripped out onto the wheel just while it was sitting overnight last night. This was after I had thoroughly cleaned the entire area with brake cleaner to ensure it was not just residual seepage from the original leak.

@JeepCares I will be sending you a private message shortly. The replacement axle shaft assembly was installed on 4/30/2021.

Folks - I would suggest you keep an eye on this even if you have recently had it repaired. I am starting to suspect something related to out of spec parts. Whether it is the actual axle housing "tube" itself, or out of spec gaskets on the axle shaft assembly.

Well that sucks. I haven't looked under mine for a while. Guess I better take a look. It's been seeping consistently but not dripping yet. This s*&t is getting ridiculous.
Good luck.

Bummer. Evidence of seepage at the rear passenger side nearly covers the inside of my rim. This is the first new vehicle I’ve ever purchased. Should I keep driving it or park it until the local dealership checks it out?

Should be fine to drive until the dealership is able to acquire the part.

So now we are at 2021 builds from 10-12-2020 thru 2-26-2021 for the passenger rear seal leak.
