I had asked for feedback revolving around the same notion only in my case, I wanted to take it (while leaking) to WY/MO/UT from PA and back. During the course of that entire trip I maybe wen't through a tablespoon. The loss was so insignificant that after we got to Cody, I checked it for the first time since leaving PA and because the driveway I was on was ever so slightly inclined, oil starting coming out of the drain plug bolt hole. I had to bring it down to the street to see how much (none detectable) I lost.It seems the leaks don't leak "a lot" and a little oil seems to go a "long way" in making it look worse then it is. As pointed out in another thread (shadowPapa) comment it was mentioned something like you would have to lose 3 ounces before possible damage to occur and obviously that would be a big mess compared to some spread out over the back of the "wheel".
I then check again when back in PA and that is when I topped it off with a tiny bit. I've since pushed off the repair (originally scheduled for today w/ a loaner) to the 26th so we could come view a property in KY. Checked earlier this week when we got here, zero visible/finger gauge detectable loss but still wet looking rotor guard so yeah, it seems like a few drops can spread across nearly half the guard if given enough time.
