the suspension is off of a rubicon... max tow also. What’s going to be the difference except the fox shocks?

About an inch of ride height and the shocks. 'should you' is up to you. it's a fair amount of work. Not hard work, just bolts, but they're all heavy bolts, 180-200ftlbs. If you had a weekend and you got it cheap, sure maybe. It will take you the better part of a day to do it all, 8 control arms, the shocks, the springs, trackbars etc.

If you're going to pay good money for the Rubi stuff and pay labor to do it... ehhh. I wouldn't. I'd save my time and money for a more substantially different kit. YMMV.

not quite following what you mean by " off of a rubicon... max tow also". There is no "max tow" option on a rubicon. The rear springs on the rubicon are significantly softer. If you care about such things it is highly likely thatthe rear will squat down more with a moderate to heavy load (vs the max tow rear springs) if you were to use the Rubi rear springs.

Probably confusion of Rubicon with tow package

IF you currently have max tow, do NOT change the rear springs.
Rubicon front springs - well, there's a range of springs. No one can say what they will or will not do definitively.
I know of at least 3 spring numbers that those front Rubicon springs could be.
If you have a loaded Sport max tow and have springs off a base Rubicon, you'll be putting the "softer" Rubicon springs under the front and may gain 3/4" - or it could gain you an inch. Depends on your current truck's weight and options and the weight and options of the Rubicon those springs came from.
Suspension? Really the only differences are the springs and shocks. Don't even bother with the lower control arms, track bar, etc. as what I have found is that those are the same as on the other levels of Gladiator.

I got a set of parts from a Rubicon where the owner had a MOPAR 2" lift put on. That means I got his sway bar links, lower control arms, track bar, springs and shocks. The only parts that were different than what's under my Overland were the springs and shocks.
I put the Rubicon springs under my Overland but because the Rubicon springs were the softer of all Rubicon springs and my Overland was loaded, I didn't gain an inch.

What I did - I put max tow springs under the back of my Overland to prevent the sag with heavy loads, and I put the Rubicon front springs under the front of my Overland to take out some of the softness and get a little bit of "lift".
I put on the 4 Rubicon Fox shocks. The truck rides more like a truck now, not as soft.

Like the others have said - there is no max tow Rubicon - and I thought all Rubicon came with the tow package. At least the charts I have don't show a difference.

The biggest difference is the shocks - the spring differences depend on what YOU HAVE RIGHT NOW. The rest - the same. Stow it in climate controlled storage for future use, if you mess up a track bar or control arms or wear out the bushings, you have spare parts.

A lot of people only swap the 4 shocks and the front springs and leave the rear springs alone
But these shocks came off a max tow also. So I dont see how it will matter

So pretty much just change the front springs/plastic pieces and shocks?

If the shocks are off a Rubicon, they can't be off a "max tow" because ONLY the Sport line had max tow.
Rubicon just had a towing package. You could not get the max tow package with Rubicon, only the normal tow package.
If they are Fox off a Rubicon, then use 'em.

Yep...No such thing as a Rubicon with Max Tow. As stated, all the other parts are the same, you really only need springs / shocks. Dont pay extra for all the extras you dont need.

Leave the track bar and control arms along on your Max Tow, they are no different than the ones off the Rubicon. Swap out the front springs only and leave the rear springs because the rear springs on the Max Tow can handle more weight when towing. Swap your Max tow shocks for the Rubicon shocks. All in all when I did mine it took about 2 hours total in driveway to what I said above. You will need jack stands and two floor jacks, this will make life a lot easier on you. A extra set of hands will help you out as well. If you decide to do it you will be pleased.

Side question...are the rubi shocks as stiff as the max tow shocks? Question being if op puts rubi shocks in the rear and tows could they allow for more truck bed travel under load, as apposed to the max tow shocks?

I’ve been wondering this, too, although I have an Overland and a Rubi takeoff suspension. If you just swap the shocks out does it take the bounce out?
