What's everyone using to lift and store the hardtop.

Unfortunately, I just don't have the room to leave it on the garage floor. I'd like to be able to back in, lift it off, and leave it stored up against the ceiling.

Lange for the JT and JL. Get the crank model and use a drill/socket to raise and lower rather than hand crank it.

Eye hooks screwed into ceiling joists, ratchet straps, pulley's and rope, there are several low dollar redneck engineering ways to do it.

The top weighs less than 80 pounds.

I had a small hand winch (like for a boat) that I used on the YJ. Couple eye bolts and a co pulley. I bought some aluminum square tubing and set it up to use on the Gladiator. Back in hook it up, crank it out of the way and done!ready to put back on when it gets colder.

Jeep Gladiator Lift / hoist for top? PXL_20210613_153642430

I used a 10 ft piece of unistrut for the boom on the shop hoist, picked it up and drove out from under......

These all look pretty straight forward and simple. I'm going to see if I can't come up with a semi-permanent mount to the ceiling.

Thank you all

Two Menards bicycle lifts, a few pulleys and a cheap boat winch.

That looks fantastic. Much appreciated. I've got the rest of the week off, so time to start fabbing something up.

Hoist from Harbor Freight, Amazon, or I got mine here:
https://www.five-oceans.com/search?type=product&q=hoist
(I went wireless)
A couple of pulleys from Amazon to 2:1 more for slowing down than pull power.
a speed strut from Home Depot (cut into 2x4' sections, one to mount hoist into concrete wall, other for the lift rig)
4 straps from Harbor Freight

TapCon the hoist to the concrete side wall

I've got a whole lot more pictures.......... but figured anyone would get the general idea.
The winch is on the wall next to where I park my JT. I use one hand to guide the top and the other to run the winch. Once up, I have "safeties" I use but that's because I'm paranoid, OCD, whatever.

I'm using (i think its the Harken) the same one I had for my JL, just modified the straps so it would not slip off, took my son and I about two hours to install in the garage, and test out.
