Hey all, I was was adjusting my shocks and noticed that both my front brake lines are wearing on my upper control arms. Caught it in time and wrapped them temporarily. New stainless lines are in the mail.

Will you post a picture so we can see exactly where it was wearing?

So, if you could mention the kit you used.

@James H @Minty JL I chose the Grimm front kit from Northridge. Stainless, PVC coated and made in US. I'm going to try and reuse the lower control arm mount.

Maybe you can bend the bracket attaching to the LCA slightly to pull the line away from the UCA?

Yea that's what I plan to do, while watching for tire contact at full lock and extension. Wish I caught it before needing new lines but at least it's an upgrade now..

I used the Teraflex brake line holder that attaches to the lower shock bolt. And KLM custom ss brake lines. They will make them to what ever length you want.

I noticed the same thing happening on mine today. Found this thread as I was getting ready to post my own.

I have the AEV rt kit. After install it wasn’t an issue. Been doing some heavy off roading lately and I’m wondering if flexing out to near full extension has caused them to bend in for some reason.

The lines look fine but I’m trying to figure it what I need to do to stop it from continuing. Any more ideas on simple fixes?

If you can save the stock lines then I would bend the bracket out a little on the control arm, just flex and turn the wheels to check clearance. Mine were pretty worn so I replaced.

Good thread. I just installed this lift few weeks ago and done some off-roading since then. I'm definitely going to check and see if I have any issues with the brake lines. Thanks for posting!
