Are you looking for just fronts or all 4?

A better parking brake than in gear with the parking brake on? Why?

i would look at modifying a cutting brake assembly that lets you apply the cutting brake and then pin it into position to keep breaks applied.

or this if it's not needed all the time

it's not sexy or sure fire but this might be a easy button solution you can keep in the back seat.

The park pawl in the transmission isn’t a proper substitute for a parking brake.

the only downside to a big axle swap is the p brake performance is terrible. So its either yank out all the factory stuff a new handle and gut the console or use an alternative

Do the swapped axles have a different brake setup or something that prevents hooking up and adjusting the cable?

A line lock is not a good solution for this as it keeps hydraulic pressure on the system vs mechanical actuation like a standard parking brake.

I have a line lock on my camaro and even that application they recommend letting off after 60 seconds.

In our rock buggies we install a ball valve in line to rear brakes. Mine is on floor between seat frame and door opening. Pin the brakes, close the valve and back wheels are locked. The reason for the valve is just as you stated. Park pawl failed in my CJ buggy and it came within inches of going off the edge of Moab Rim trail with my wife seat belted in passenger seat as I watched in horror.

If your new axles came with a parking brake setup a properly adjusted cable pulled tight before you go to park with shifter should be fine. Especially if you are in four wheel drive.

You still haven't shared your build, :)

Seems like the issue is travel and leverage.
pulled tight it still doesn’t apply enough pressure so it’ll roll anyway. Its enough for flat street parking but trails exactly like moab rim are the issue. Even with the stock setup p brake maxed that sickening movement in and out of P made me real nervous

ill post some more pics in the next week or two. Had some delays on parts.
