Can we start a list of chassis grounding points? I found a couple in the engine bay next to the battery, a couple on the frame down behind the front passenger wheel. I need some in the back at the bed and on the frame below the bed. Any one have some good existing locations that don't require drilling, grinding, and re-sealing?

If this thread becomes comprehensive enough, maybe we can make it a sticky?

Put the project in hold for a while but getting back at it and haven’t found a suitable grounding point.

Can I grind away the paint here at the D-ring mounting point and use it to bond a ground strap for my entire “house” electrical system? Will it be sufficient to carry, say, 50A?

Did you sand the paint away for it? I’m using it for my CB and was having a heck of a time getting my SWR where it needed to be. Finally sanded everything down for that ground and all was well. It had just a tiny bit of paint on it, but it’s worth the extra two minutes for install :like:

For those looking to wire things in the bed, I found two ground points above the spare tire. Remove the spare and there’s one on each side of the frame!

Good reminder, I seen them but still ran a ground back to front with some of my added wiring... Still procrastinating on second battery "house" bank.

I searched online all over and couldn’t find anything so bought 25ft of cut ground wire to run to the front when buying materials for the project... didn’t find these until after I started the install, could’ve saved me $30!

Oh you don't even want to know how much I've spent on wiring so far.? I normally buy wire in 100 ft rolls to keep from having splices, soldered most connections. If I had only done all at same time, some are still not connected yet and I got a set of LED lights that are reversed wired at plugs. Damn no name lights. Plus I pulled the rear winch wiring from my old XJ to install in JT now. Braided loom covering all the wires for nice finish.
A tip for anyone else who is planning on that you can use 3/8 or 1/2 or what ever size for about any wire size by just expanding it to fit.

What’s a good grounding point if I want to mount a powered sub behind the rear seat and don’t want to take off the rear panel? I don’t have premium audio so all I have back there is a tray

I used one of the seat bolts, no problems yet.

I'm currently working on a project to install a power set up in the bed. Is G925 under the spare? I can't even find G926

Sorry to bring up an old thread but I'm trying to ground to chassis under the spare tire. I'm still getting no charge from my manager30. Can someone tell me if I grounded this right? Is the terminal supposed to be under that silver piece?
