I took my 2023 Gladiator that I purchased back in March at a Toyota dealer to my local Jeep dealer to look at corrosion showing up on the left and right edges of the hood. It is sill under the factory warranty They informed me that since I didn't purchase any there they would not fix it. So much for the factory standing behind their products. Has anyone else experienced this issue

I had my chimp (gorilla) glass fracture due to temp change. Huge oval from top to bottom left to right. I’m at 20k miles within 8 months and supposedly the gorilla glass warranty is 12k/12mo.. there’s a lawsuit on the glass m, clearly it was a defect in the windshield. @JeepCares gave me a case manager who was worthless. All he cared about was ā€œdropping gemsā€ for me on my next purchase, to purchase at my local dealer so they will do warranty work and won’t refuse me, and other ā€œgemsā€. He even claimed to send me a survey and such and then his call dropped, coincidence that I never received that survey or other emails that he claimed to have sent. Local dealership won’t replace windshield. Reason I didn’t purchase from them was because they wanted 5k more for my gladiator than me driving 6 hours to get the one I did. So no @JeepCares case manager, your ā€œgemsā€ are stupid. Good luck finding a dealership to get your work done. I’ve only got 2 dealerships within a 70 mile radius from where I live. Looks as if my windshield will remain with an oval until I feel like getting it changed. Definitely won’t be getting the chimp glass to replace it!

I found a dealer a little over an hour away. They gave me the name of the body shop they use and they had me bring my Gladiator down. He looked at the hood and he said it would have to be replaced. He also checked out the rest of the vehicle and found corrosion on the bottom of the doors as well as the tailgate They are going to replace them all. He submitted it to Jeep and he said he should get the authorization in the next week or so. I guess living in Florida corrosion is a big issue. He said that the replacement parts don't have the issue I still have 3 more years of corrosion warranty. He recommended bringing it in once a year to check. I will update on how it goes

I live in New Smyrna Beach Florida
I live in Florida too (Key Largo). Now I am starting to get paranoid about all the corrosion issues I am reading about. Salt in the air here, definitely. I'm about 200 ft. from the Ocean. I turn around, cross the highway, and it's about 4 blocks to the Gulf side. So it's salty here no matter which way the wind blows.

Oh well, just have to keep checking for corrosion I guess.

I disagree about corrosion being an issue in Florida. Maybe more so than Arizona or Nevada but much less versus any state that salts their roads in winter. The main corrosion risk imho would be taking the jeep to the beach and getting actual saltwater or salt spray on it and not washing it off. That certainly can happen but it’s going to be a very small percentage of jeeps in the state.

All that said I’m glad you found a dealer to play ball on this. It’s really something jeep corporate should be getting out in front of. Revoke ONE franchise for this nonsense and I all but guarantee the other 1000+ franchises will fall right in line.

Ask my son who doesn't really live all that close to the beach. The salt is carried in the moist air, for even a few miles. Unless inside, they are constantly exposed to it. He found out living near St. Augustine.

I grew up in L.I.New york. I remember as a kid my father always was waxing his bumpers on his cars. After a few years they would get some pitting on the chrome bumper, and they used some heavy chroming those days. Coke or Pepsi would clean it off. We lived 8 to 10 miles from the ocean.

Dealer is obligated to perform warranty repairs under their franchise agreement with the manufacturer. Refusing to do so is grounds for termination, though it would have to be a pattern of practice to have any real impact. Contact Jeep Cares(🤣) and see what happens.
Correction.. the dealerships operate under a Sales and Service Agreement.. NOT A FRANCHISE. And If the dealership chooses to decline to perform warranty work FCA cannot force them. The easiest way is for the schedule to be 2-3 months out; not just say no. Paint repairs many times require FCA district manager authorization prior to any work being performed; in this instance the service manager initiates the call to the DM and guess what his report possibly would be.
