I took my 2023 Gladiator that I purchased back in March at a Toyota dealer to my local Jeep dealer to look at corrosion showing up on the left and right edges of the hood. It is sill under the factory warranty They informed me that since I didn't purchase any there they would not fix it. So much for the factory standing behind their products. Has anyone else experienced this issue

That has nothing to do with the factory my man, that is 100% the dealer. They are franchises that can do whatever they please sometimes and are separate from FCA. (Just like your local fast food places.)

I wouldn't say your experience is the norm but it isn't unheard of either sadly. You can try seeing if @JeepCares can help you out. The fact they outright didn't even look at it causes a concern for me from that dealer. I'm not sure what the legalities of that are even to be honest.

This is 100% BS from the dealer. I just had this work done and I had to try two dealerships. The one I took it to first which is where I normally go for work, (not any longer), told me there was a quota on corrosion warranty work and they'd already met it. Jeep customer service told me this was not true. So, the dealership just didn't want the "hassle".

While I was talking to Jeep on the same phone call, I had them call around for me to find a dealership willing to take it as I was not willing to leave my Jeep with a dealership for a day or two just to be told they don't want to deal with it. They found one and I took it there to have the work done. All they did was sub it out to a nearby body shop.

Keep searching or call Jeep and see if they'll find you a dealership willing to do the work.

As others said, not true. I bought mine at one dealer and had warranty work done at two separate local dealers. When I had the corrosion issue (doors, hinges, hood), the dealer had me go straight to their body shop who took care of all the paper work and did the repair and replacement. This is a factory issue, and the dealer just needs to submit the claim on your behalf.

Just find another dealer. You can try and force their hand by complaining but are you going to now trust somebody you have made mad to work on your vehicle and give two shits?

Dealer is obligated to perform warranty repairs under their franchise agreement with the manufacturer. Refusing to do so is grounds for termination, though it would have to be a pattern of practice to have any real impact. Contact Jeep Cares(🤣) and see what happens.

Last time I brought my jeep in for service the the service manager told me they examined it for paint issues while they had it. I bought this jeep used from an individual and my dealer has been great. The first time I brought it in they knew it needed the fuel pump replaced and ordered the parts and scheduled the work.

Find a new dealer.

Total BS…... Who did you talk to (at the dealership)?? Was it Joe Or Jane -Schmoe 😆 at the parts counter or service desk? Or did you talk with management??
If you talked with Joe or Jane Schmoe initially….. they could’ve been lazy and mis-informed. If you’re in the mood to give them a 2nd chance, talk with upper management and/or ownership. Nothing wrong with giving them a 2nd chance especially if Joe-Jane Schmoe is a putz. 🤣
I would give them a 2nd chance before filing a ‘complaint’ against them.

Otherwise….find another dealership.

Some dealers have body shops/collision centers, others do not. Those who do not are less likely to take something like that on because it's hard to find another shop that will deal with the payment from Jeep for the repairs.
The dealer has to have some arrangement with a body shop that isn't already having to deal with a waiting list. .Body shops today make their real money from insurance claims - and often will refuse any other work if it's not covered by insurance. So there's that, too. Maybe that dealer doesn't have any other shop that can or WILL take on warranty work like that. Warranty work pays at a flat rate, not whatever the shop charges. Find a shop with a collision center/body shop, don't mess with others.

daaayum... doors hinges and hood!, I had corrosion on the passenger side hood on my '22 JT , thankfully the dealer took care of it last August by subbing or to local body shop...

Ironically, they replaced all four doors, 8 door hinges, two hood hinges, and resprayed the hood (with new stickers), but the windshield hinges were denied because it wasn't a corrosion issue- even though paint was peeling off.

I called another dealer 45 minutes away and same song and dance they told be they don't do warranty repairs unless I purchased it there

I will keep calling further out and hopefully I can Fins a dealer that will do the warranty work I am going to see if I can find the dealer that sold it originally and maybe they will do the work

people need to consider when they purchase a vehicle out of the area or in another state they may not be able to get warranty work done If they purchase a used one that is under warranty they are probably going to be out of luck I live in Florida and maybe it is different in other areas I wish I would have known
