Loose PCM... P0118, service electronic throttle control

I've had random CELs over the 10,000miles ive owned the jeep such as P0118 and "service electronic throttle control" and "service DEF".. engine coolant temps all over the place.. i thought it was bad sensors on the jeep or the tazer JL messing with the electronics. Dealer could not diagnose because CELs would go away before my dealer appointments.. TURNS OUT, my damn PCM has been partially unplugged! I reset it and everything is back to normal.

Glad you found the culprit. Mine only throws that code when I am towing and it gets warm.

Well I am towing a heavy load this weekend so we'll see how she does. I'm in NJ so ambient temps are cool right now at least. Between 30-50 degrees depending on the time of day. Ill keep you all posted.

Definitely... My 2 brothers had JLs (3.6L) built same time as mine (sept/oct/nov of 2020) all 3 of our jeeps had loose fuses. Plus I had a the loose PCM and one of the JLs had to have a PCM replaced due to miss fires issues.. looking back I'm sure his PCM was not properly hooked up either... crazy..

Welp this thing is a tank.. towed a 6000lbs trailer with 4 dudes in the jeep. 2.5 hours each way.. on 37s at 75mph... ran amazing. 13mpg, trans his 210, coolant 217, oil 230.
