Many such parts have revision numbers on them - cast, stamped, etc. - not sure about THESE, but most other parts do have some way of tracking them beyond just a part or model number. Maybe someone who has swapped the more recent MOPAR sectors will comment.
Just letting you guys know before you reply to this. I have the AE version, so that has nothing to do with a fix. I remember reading the whole AE version post/comments a few weeks ago and took a pic of mine.

On a different note, If I buy my own mopar steering box (same p/n as mine) & pay my dealer to replace it, do I then have any legal way of getting all that $ back when it will clearly solve my problem?
Probably not. Maybe years down the line after some law firm develops a class action and you get a free car wash’s worth of payment. I get mail all the time for various VW suits.

Agreed. Mine is nowhere close.

Also, Procol Harum @ShadowsPapa ?
Yeah, rock band from the late 60s. Whiter Shade of Pale (became sort of an anthem of the times), Conquistador, Salty Dog, Power Failure, Simple Sister, don't play Luskus Delph around 'sensitive' ears. Their drummer, BJ Wilson, one of the best - known as the octopus in a bathtub.

Oh I'm aware. I guess I was just surprised to hear and couldn't tell. Rock on!

The sound is muddy in these, IMO. It's premium because you pay more, not because it sounds better.

Well I have the standard with the 7.0". How do you think I feel!
Luckily we don't buy these for the concert hall sound hahahahahaha.
Jeep and premium sound, a contradiction in terms, like government intelligence or jumbo shrimp.
Now the sound in my wife's Grand Cherokee IS nice - crisp, clean, and when she comes home I can tell what song she's playing when she gets to the end of our driveway, over 100 feet away.

As crazy at is sounds I upgraded the front 3.5s in mine. I had points on crutchfield and it ended up costing me about $20...figured that was worth it to bring up the highs just a bit....for my old tired hearing.

Has anyone with the unsafe sloppy steering box thought about bringing this issue to their local news station to try and get it out there in the news? Not sure there would be any news crew willing to air something like this, but maybe it’s worth a try. This is just a thought. Let me know what you think. Thanks

According to my dealer, I am the only one with the problem..
They've never heard this before.
One just HAS to wonder if FCA is telling the dealers to play dumb here and deny the issue.
I absolutely DETEST visiting a dealer for any service work, and one of my apprehensive thoughts about buying a new vehicle.
Went there last week, the service writer said he didn't have anyone who could look at it, well no crap !!!!!
I just wanted them to look at my steering box/frame flex, and document this. Pretty sure a 3 year old with glasses could see this.

SO i took mine in today for the steering issue (Too much play on center before wheels actually turn) is what i told them. They had a tech look at it and drive it and he told the service writer that "it was fairly normal for those jeeps". Well don't you think that that could be a bigger problem?!?! So i have the service manager ride with me and he even got another gladiator that one of the sales managers was driving (as a demo) that was almost the exact same mileage that i have (2700) and it does almost the same thing. after driving both, the service manager agreed that he also thought that it was too loose with too much play from center and that at this time there is not much they can do about it. However it was in the system and he said they may come out with a TSB for it when enough complaints come in and FCA decides to do something about it. He also agreed with me that since it is an electronic box that they may come out with a FLASH to help correct it and to give him a call in a month to see if something has come out yet. SO my suggestion is to take yours in and then its documented and then fill out the NHTSA page and lets keep complaining until the squeaky wheel gets the grease.

That sounds pretty high. My door sticker for the stock Overland is 38 - and tires with more meat on the ground I'd not expect to run that high even.
Hey, fun, I just found a chart that gives example tire sizes and other fun stuff to calculate inflation needs - hmmm, have to read this over more.
And it's not from Jeep, it's from tire makers.
