I just realized they also aired my tired up to 42psi I had them at 36.
My 33’s are set to 37 cold (36 by my tire gauge) and run 42 when they are heated up.

Yes the 42psi was cold which meant it was 44-45psi at road speed. I have already changed it back to 36.

Track bar bolt.
One of the first things I checked on mine...along with all the other steering bolts....man I wish mine was that easy.

Quotes from tire manufacturers, TRA and other sources -

Quote -
Cold Inflation Pressure
According to an association of tire manufacturers, "the cold inflation pressure is “taken with the tires at the prevailing atmospheric
temperatures and do not include any inflation pressure build-up due to vehicle operation.”
In short, tires should be checked when they are cold; that is after the vehicle has been parked for at
least three hours or driven less than one mile. It is easiest to check your inflation pressure in the
morning, after the car has been parked overnight." (this is their agreed upon standard)

QUOTE -
Replacement Tire
4. Use the appropriate load inflation table for the replacement tire size(s).
5. Find the inflation pressure to which the corresponding load is equal to or greater than the
OE tire.
6. Inflate tires to the appropriate inflation pressure.
7. If the replacement tire requires a different inflation pressure than OE, the installer should
inform the owner of the new required inflation pressure and should also place a sticker or
decal over the vehicle tire placard showing the new tire size and recommended inflation
pressure for future reference.
Some vehicles are originally equipped with a staggered fitment in which the front and rear tire
sizes may vary and/or may have a different front and rear recommended inflation pressure.
Always maintain any differences in inflation pressures front to rear that are shown on the vehicle
placard.
Warning! Never use an inflation pressure lower than what is recommended by the vehicle
manufacturer.

Quote -
For every 10 degrees of temperature drop, tires will drop 1-2 pounds of pressure. It is important to keep your tires within the recommended PSI to maintain traction, handling and durability.
Just as colder weather can cause PSI to drop, excessive heat can cause your tire pressure to temporarily increase. For every 10 degrees of increased temperature, your tires can be expected to increase by 1-2 pounds of pressure.

From Bridgestone -
If it is necessary to adjust inflation pressure when tires are “hot”, set their pressure to 4 psi (14 kPa) above the recommended cold inflation pressure. Recheck the inflation pressure when the tires are cold.

My comment - The below is approximations only because there may be a large difference in the VOLUME of air in a given tire compared to another. For example, the Bridgestone Dueller H/T 255/70R18 tires on the stock Overland compared to the Toyo LT305/70R17, the latter being a larger tire in width and height as well as the rim being smaller meaning taller sidewalls.

A video I made of my steering on a drive today. Looks like crappy quality converting it to a gif, but a decent amount of play I’d say

Dropped mine off at a dealer over an hour from my house this morning. I just got a call back that my steering box has way too much play in it and they are ordering me a new one. Should have the Jeep back probably Thursday?

I can make mine do this exact same thing. However if I move the wheel slowly it responds promptly. I really think a lot of this is the electronic steering simply compensating for quick movements and not reacting.

I did reduce my tire pressure but I did that more for just the bounding down the road issues

The front wheels should respond pretty quickly to any movement you make. The steering column is connected to the steering sector so when you move the wheel the worm gear in the sector responds. I would bet that your sector had too much lash, and sometimes you can NOT adjust that out of it. If you try you end up with a tight center. Wheels that won't return to straight ahead, or a spot that's hard to turn past when turning left to right.

Finally, a dealer who is responsive, thanks for sharing and let us know if you feel it is now fixed. Well done!

Videos on page 27 of this thread show how nicely they can track down the highway with minimal wheel movement, event taking an exit and letting go. That highway isn't "rough" but there's a lot of up and down motion - it's not real true or level.
The second video it was a bit windy due to approaching freezing rain mix.

Well done! First success story from a dealer on this forum! Now for the result...many here will be waiting to hear back if the new box fixes it.

BTW, the success story is the dealer admitting that it is not OK.

Come on spazzyfry123 - people are sitting on the edge of their seats waiting for the conclusion to this cliff-hanger!
Was it all a dream, or did it really happen?
Do we have to wait until September to find out?
Any spoiler alerts?

For now I'm chalking it up as a success because someone affiliated with Jeep (meaning the techs as well as the advisors at this dealership) say that there is something wrong and they were able to find it. One of the reasons I chose this dealer instead of the two other ones that are closer to me is because it is in a small town. Everyone knows everyone. The advisor spends his time out on the shop floor working with the techs having a smoke break. Honesty is the name of the game, and they're not living in the Amazon lifestyle where turnover time is more important that a job well done. Heck after dropping off the Jeep we stopped in for breakfast to kill a little time. Not a single person in the store (with exception of me and my wife) didn't know each other. Waitresses giving people hugs. Asking how grandma is doing. Handing them a coffee as they're walking in the door. I come from Atlanta where the only acknowledgement you'd get is "Hey, F#&K YOU!

Another reason I left the Jeep with this dealer is because of fitment issues with my Freedom Panels (if you care to read, https://www.jeepgladiatorforum.com/forum/threads/how-do-your-freedom-panels-fit.24131/ ). The advisor called to let me know that they tried every trick they could think to get them to fit better and they admitted defeat. We'll have to involve other departments to get that one handled. But I was glad to hear them own it and acknowledge there's an issue rather than push it back on me and somehow make it my fault or anyone but theirs. I like that answer better.

So far I'm in a good mood.

Will the JT get better steering?
Will spazzy like his "new" Jeep?
Will Jeff finally ask out Denise?
Check in next time for another episode of, "My Jeep is Dangerous!"

But really, I just told them to hang on to the Jeep since I had my wife follow me up in the company car seeing that I had some work to do out that way anyway. They're anticipating the steering box to arrive either tomorrow or Thursday and they'll jump right on it. If this doesn't fix it, then I'm getting the big Jeep guys involved and I'll just leave the Jeep there since we're heading out of town for a week. But, don't want to put the cart before the horse. Give it a couple days and hopefully we'll have a better answer.

I'm also going to request that they get me the part numbers, serial numbers, manufacturing dates...whatever they can get me that will show some type of difference between my original and new steering box. Hoping that may shed some light for you guys if something positive does come of it.
