If they weren't going to go full retro, I think the GW/W needed to have more callbacks to the original. Add 2 more doors to this rendering, and I think it works far better than new design.

The forward rake on the grill seems more pronounced, probably because of the height. And it seems there's slightly more of the fastback/slant to the rear hatch, compared to the more upright new model, recalling the original.

That rendering looks nice! I am a bit worried that the W/GW styling is off and that the models may fizzle because of it, but what do I know? I have sat in both and they are exceptionally nice, the exterior just seems like it was a bit of an afterthought.

Kinda like how the Tribeca was supposed to be an amazing Subaru just bigger, and instead flopped hard. Or to a lesser degree the Commander - seems like those were dirt cheap before too long.

The new Grand Wagoneer doesn't look like a Jeep product at all, certainly not a Wagoneer.

Anything 2-door, esp an SUV, is not going to sell. 2-door renders are just fun with Photoshop. I actually love the new Grand Wagoneer and also love the idea of a Jeep Cherokee Chief. There's room in the Stellantis stable for both.

But the Chief would have to be a four door. And the woke crowd would get their tie-dye panties in a wad over the name "Cherokee Chief". So with that in mind, I'd love to see this go into production asap.

The styling of the new Waggoneer is too easy to pass over or confuse with the Tahoe. Unless you see it parked, it's hard to differentiate between it and about a half dozen other SUVs.

The 2 door chief rendering looks great. The proportions are much better than the 4 door Wagoneer Tahoe wannabe. CAFE regulatons are the reason vehicles have been getting larger the past 20 years in the North American auto market. If you believe all new vehicles having 4 doors is due to manufacturers responding to customer demand, you have been snowed by corporate marketing.

Only thing that worries me about the ‘Wagoneers is the price. My dealer has been in stock of them since December. They seem to be selling including the $140k topped out tagged up one they had. Sucker had 23 speakers and I think 9 screens.

I think we all wish for a vehicle reboot to be provocative . Especially one with an established name . Unfortunately I feel like Jeep has missed the mark on the GW and dare I say the Gladiator . In regard to the the gladiator , it's not acceptable to release the truck without a model specific front clip . It should have had something similar to the innovative auto retro conversion .

The Grand Wagoneer is a hoary composition of weird angles, strange kinks and just plain ugliness. I just don't get it.

Now compare that monstrosity to the outgoing Grand Cherokee.

Clean lines. Tight surfaces. Just a nicely done design. 11 years old and it looks better than the new stuff.
