So about couple months ago the mirrors stopped working on my 2020.
Had the ohm meter out on the pins & kept getting nonsensical various results. Ran it by my mechanic.
Agreed didn’t make sense. Having resistance and then not having any resistance on pins.
I had ordered a new Mopar mirror switch in the meantime.
Fast forward. Door panel off.
Nothing out of sorts. Switch replaced….
No function. Plenty of peeps blaming the BCM.
Wasn’t convinced of that yet. Not to mention price of that item. Yesterday power door locks stopped working working. Hmmmm
My mechanic and myself both agreed to have a look at the harness of door/body junction.
Well sure enough. Plenty of kinked and broken wires.
Not sure of Jeeps wisdom on this. Maybe better wire coating is in order. Mind you this door was only off once.
It is my daily driver so yes plenty of repetition on door open/close.
Check those wire looms under the black canvas type wrap if ya have some funky switch problems.
Also found it amusing my Overland has a Sahara panel!
New door harness ordered.

Same thing happened to me. Believe it or not, its not from taking the doors off. It's from normal use: from opening and closing the door...thanks a lot Jeep!

I got a new harness and waiting for normal weather to install it.

That is a pretty common failure point, even on non Jeep vehicles. At least you have it figured out.

Have replaced and repaired many door harnesses on vehicles other than Jeep. So good post to allow others to see a common issue specific to this vehicle! I personally haven’t seen this on any of my wranglers or gladiator. Good info! 👍

I had a 2008 JKU. One of the few things I miss about it was the ease of taking the doors on and off.

I felt like a drunk honey badger could connect the harness and everything connects perfectly.

You need surgical precision and stats need to be perfectly aligned to not bend any pins on the JT.

Well ,From the sounds of it I may very well have joined this club . I WILL be repairing mine tomorrow . I don't see why a new harness would be in order so ling as all the wires are color coded . If they are all yellow or green or purple then yeah.. I noticed forst the light in the electric lock quick working . Thought oh well it is the least of my worrys then today went to adjust the mirrors and it wouldn't move thought well needs some lube so popped off the back panel and put some penetrating oil in it. Nope nothing. So I did a search and seen this thread . Now I know what my neck task is ..lol thanks for the post
P.S. mine is driven 24 days a month at minimum and during the day that door comes open and shut 20 times at least . Mine is a 21" but build late in 9/2020.
