Finally hit one. My @Genesis Offroad dual battery system.

product that was rushed to market based on previous designs and poorly adapted to the the jl/jt. The number of issues i had along the way -that they knew about- were frustrating. My advice to someone considering it is read through their “”faq”” which is really just a long ass unstructured list of emails they have answered as people discover issues along the way.

i can safely say ill never use anything from that company again, and will be sticking with other set ups for my business vehicle fleet.
Any specifics? Do you think it would make sense to only use their dual battery tray without the electronics, then just connect the cranking battery cables to the cranking battery and aux battery cables to the 2nd battery? If I need a 'jump' I can always use normal jumpers from the new aux to the main. Essentially just replacing the aux battery with the Group 25 and moving it up.

i have been using mine since the beginning of March with no issues. I read the FAQ after having the system installed. Please expound on your issues with it.

the tray is mostly fine, although highlighting for people that optima’s dont fit right would have been nice. My issue is the electronics that dont allow top start to function correctly if you want to use it. That should have been easy to voltage regulate to keep the system working.

its possible im being overly critical, but i dont like it when products dont clearly and simply spell out what is being changed, and when you call about it tell you “everyone knows that, not sure why you dont”.

i will admit that the fit of the tray and the compactness of the control unit were nice.

I bought the mopar soft tri-fold as it was the only local one in stock and I needed one to keep bed dry but really want the mopar soft one for all the reasons you state and your posts are making me look more into selling mine and getting the rolling one!
I got the Bestop EZ-Fold black twill. Looks pretty rich (costs less than $400) and not plasticky, and installs with 4 clamps. If I need full bed, it takes me less than 5 minutes to remove it or reinstall it completely.

Battery fit info would be good, but I am not sure they can check every battery for compliance. I would think Optima is a big enough company that they should have checked it though.

The stop start disengaging every six activations does not really bother me, and I use the feature. It is a minor issue given the systems function when i am camping.

optimas are too small. Some dense foam took care of it. Im being more of a dram queen about it than i need to, i think. The auto power distribution of the system IS nice. And not paying redarc prices is nice.

Like my previous Dash Mouse, i regret my Bed Bear. It's not compatible with Bestop soft roll-up cover when forgetting a chic-fil-a bag is in the back. Also, only able to de-mod with special de-mod spray (sold separately from Bed Bear) from the safety of a bedroom window.

You can always add the 8.4. And then with the tazer enable the off-road pages.

Bed bears are at least better than the cab bears. Those are available in the Rocky Mountain market. Real PITA to uninstall; requires a specialist most of the time.

We have a toddler and a very strict no food in the cabin policy. If we need to eat on the road, it's sitting on the tailgate; preferably of the trailer.

Same here. Attracts rodents in the garage too.
