I installed the Mopar trailer brake controller however I am not sure if it’s getting power. When I press it or turn the controller knob, nothing happens. Also when the lights are on, I don’t see the lights for the controller either switch either as if there is no power to it.

I checked and everything is plugged in.

Do I need to activate it so it has power or is there a fuse I need to add?

Thanks, shouldn’t the knob lights be on as part of the dash illumination when the dash lights are on?

Think CFL is correct. Only lights up when trailer electric is connected.

Thanks for confirming. The installation was harder than I had anticipated and I was dreading pulling the module out again.

Ya I've been working to much to check but I'm sure mine doesn't light up either. I also haven't had a chance to hook up to a trailer to verify it's working yet either. Just what I've read. Oh and I hear ya about the install. Was not fun

When you first start the Jeep look at the controller, the top number will be illuminated red and will go off after 15 seconds. The controller will only light up when a trailer is plugged into the 7pin and not the 4. Once connected with a trailer that has electronic brake controller capabilities it will illuminate Green. I have found that the numbers correspond with the weight of the trailer in (1000 lb increments). Once you brake it will turn red or if you hit the manual brake function in the center.

Getting the 12v cigarette plug socket out was the biggest pain in my a$$. It honestly was easier installing the bed plug outlet and new switch/panel on the dash. I will never convert it back regardless.

Can relate to not wanting to take the module back out. The sharp edges on the metal under the dash caused me some grief and yes the cigarette lighter disassembly can be challenging. With this install you loose the cigarette lighter but you gain the cigarette lighter 12 volt circuit for some other use.
