It's been in my family since before I was born! I had to buy 4-4 Yamiya reproduction pipes though as it had some unfitting 4-2 pipes when I inherited it.

That's great that you returned it to the stock style pipes.
You/Your family seems to have kept it in very nice shape.

Thank you!!! It is SUPER tempting to put a Yoshi 4-1 on it occasionally for the sound but nothing compares to the classic 4-4's!

I weep every time I see a 4-1 on one of these, particularly one as original and nice as yours.

Need to take it in one of these days though.
Rode it a few miles on a flat to park it somewhere safe and it hasn't felt right since, hopefully just in my head. Took it for a spin in the neighborhood a few weeks ago for the first time in months and sounded like some noise from the valves. This post actually made me go put the key in it and I'm surprised the battery was still good, but not about to start it at nearly 4am

I am a bit of an idiot, when it comes to bikes. Bought this 2001 Road star, beat to the end of its life, and restored it to stock. Put 10k on it. Then sold it, only to have it road into the ground again, could not stand it so bought it back, stroked it to 1800cc, put Mikuni carb and ignition commander on it. Made my own 3 inch exhaust and had it black jet coated. Fitted it with old school fatboy wheels and harley belt drive. Made custom rear fender and bag mounts. Put 5k on it and sold it again. Thing is a beast, various comments were made that there is no way that bike was not made on this side of the pond.
