My JT launch edition had a ticking noise, I took it into the dealership and they started off replacing the rocker arms, then they replaced the cam phaser, then they replaced the cylinder head, then they replaced the whole engine, my jeep was at the dealership for three visits and for the last visit for the engine replacement it was at the dealership for 30 days. They called me up and said my vehicle was fixed. I picked it up and drove off the lot and made it a half a mile down the road before the check engine light came on and was flashing and the vehicle started to shake and misfire badly. Iā€™m back in a rental again.

Your much more patient than me. You are aware of the lemon law? In my state they have 4 attempts to fix it or if it's in the shop more than 30 days. I would lemon law the thing if I were you.

I have the same issue - flashing check engine light (multi cylinder failure and stop/start). I had this happen just 30-40 miles after I bought the truck. I took it back to the dealer where I bought my new Gladiator and they said they fixed it (spark plugs and ignition coils), but it was still flashing check engine lights. I have in the past 30 days taken it to another dealer three times and they cannot fix it. They told me to run two tanks of premium gas because I had put "bad gas" in the tank. I reminded them this issue occurred on the tank of gas from the factory, and I knew exactly what gas I had put in. I did the two premium tanks of gas anyway, and when I went back, the Jeep dealership told me the check engine light had been on too long for them to verify the issue - the 800 miles from the two tanks of gas - so they cleared the code and told me it was fixed. It isn't fixed and the check engine light flashed on again just 20 miles from that dealership. Now, Jeep Cares is telling me my only recourse it to get an attorney and file a lemon law, they refuse to take it back. Has anyone has a good Jeep Cares contact who has helped them? I am near Milwaukee, any one know a reputable dealership they would recommend. I like the truck in general, but having to get an attorney to deal with a problem I had since day one is very a disappointing outcome. I am quite shocked, this is definitely not the Jeep customer care I had when I owned a Cherokee for 15 years. I hope other Gladiator owners with this issue take it back the first day they see it and warn other potential owners.

You have probably been given the best advice already by Jeep Cares and that is to start the lemon law process on your end. I am 99.9% certain that any Jeep Cares specialist is following a tree script on the issue and is not going to offer anything that has not already been given.

If it helps I had this issue with a misfire on my first gladiator. You can read back in my posts. Long story short I was lucky and was able to order another JTR. However, that dealer still has that Jeep and it is apparently fixed and is up for sale. Apparently on a whim they had the idea to get an entire new wiring harness. Iā€™ll be back at the dealer tomorrow and can ask more about it too.

Our very frustrating issues continue. As I mentioned above, our dealership claimed the issue was "bad gas", even though the issue started a couple hours after I picked up the new Gladiator. This was after replacing a spark plug and an ignition coil in the first fix attempt. Then the issue was diagnosed as a bad sensor/controller board, that fix didn't work, so back to Jeep service and now they are saying the piston rockers are bad or maybe there are metal scraps in the oil, so waiting for parts and another fix. Then my Jeep dealership has the audacity to say they decided not to charge ME for the oil change they need to do to see if there is metal in the oil, because they will use up one of my free Jeep Wave oil changes. But my Jeep only has 1500 miles, so it not even close to needing an oil change. Shocking, just a shocking lack of customer focus.

I was grateful to see another Jeep Care person on this forum ask us to message him, so I got very hopeful we could also get a new, working Jeep, but sadly that is not yet the case for us. He told us our only recourse is to go back to calling the same Jeep "Cares" rep who previously told us to get an attorney. The same rep who doesn't call us back and doesn't tell her supervisor to call us even though we have asked for him to call us. I am still hopeful someone at Chrysler will step in and get us a new replacement Jeep. If the piston rocker fix doesn't work, then I feel we have met our state's lemon law, so maybe that evidence will help? Also our Jeep Cares person retracted the promise to reimburse us for having to take Lyfts and get rental cars when our Jeep is in the shop and I have no way to get home or get to work. She stated Jeep Cares may choose at their discretion to not reimburse us at all, so we've been carpooling instead of getting a rental while our truck spends days at a time in the shop. After owning a Jeep Cherokee for 15 years and 300,000 miles with only a radiator problem at year 12, I am very surprised that more isn't been done for us very loyal Jeep customers who clearly got a bad product.

I am wondering how the people with Jeep Gladiator lemons were able to get a new truck? Did Jeep step up or did you have to get an attorney? TY Lyn

There should be a packet of information on the lemon law procedure in your state with your owners manual. Read it.

Saw my first gladiator for sale with pics on the dealerā€™s website and I saw the check engine light and auto stop light on in the pics (still a new vehicle since I didnā€™t sign the paperwork). Asked my sales person about it and he says itā€™s broken again. Says he is surprised they havenā€™t sent it back to jeep. My guess ā€œagainā€ really means ā€œstillā€. Hard to believe they have been dealing with a broken gladiator since NOV 11th and yet to have fixed it or send it back. I feel terrible for you and anyone else dealing with this problem as an owner. Iā€™ll keep following up with the dealer on it too.

Been a while since my last post. My Gladiator has spent almost 4 months in the shop with this issue. Sad to see that there are so many others also dealing with the issue.
Couple quick updates, if you decide to use Jeeps "arbitration" to try and get resolution for this issue, don't waste your time, it's a scam. Go full lemon law if your tired of the fact you paid too dollar for a truck with issues.
As for me, in Florida, i was advised that I could not sue for lawyer fees when going through the lemon law process and that the $3500 in accessories I added may also not be covered, so I stand to lose over $7000 to lemon law a truck I just bought. I can stand the idea of losing that kind of money, so I'm in for the long Hall to get this fixed.
On the plus side, they finally replaced my ECU in the Jeep and the misfire error has gone away! On the bad side, now it has a check engine light on because of a sensor failure. I am finally driving the truck again (with the light on) and am scheduled to go back to the dealer on the 6th to repair the sensor (I hope).
This has been the worst purchase of my life, sadly I still love the truck, just hate the lack of quality, slow repair process, and over Jeep don't cares of this purchase. Hopefully I will get this solved and go on to enjoy the $60000 mistake I have made.

I lemon lawed my first Jeep for this cylinder misfire issue, Iā€™m also in Florida. I didnā€™t lose any money in the process and got a check for all the money I spent in accessories that I could provide a receipt for. I didnā€™t use a lawyer either. Everything was pretty cut and dry through the proscess. The only thing I didnā€™t agree with was them requiring ā€œwear and tear / usage milesā€ and it went off of the mileage from the final repair attempt not from when the issue started but in the end that fee only came out to like 300$. They rebuilt me a new one with the same specs and I added led lighting to it and new comped the upgrade so I didnā€™t keep arguing the usage miles. But unfortunately this new one ( 2nd gladiator for me now) is having the same ess failure and general cylinder misfire all over again. At this point Iā€™m probably in it for the long run too just cause even though it was a straight forward process it was still long and stressful, but let us know if them replacing the ecu is a definitive fix for you, maybe we can all have our service depts do that and our nightmares will be over
