No mention of any recent work being done on it - by dealer or owner (battery swapping, that sort of thing). So we get into 20 questions. Very much lacking much information.

Rodents. I'd almost bet on it.

To everyone asking why our house or spigot cover or asphalt shingles weren't effected. The flames went straight up. I don't know but are very thankful to the neighbor who saw the grill glowing and called 911. When my husband emptied our fire extinguisher into the grill and couldn't extinguish the fire, he ran back into the house and told me to get myself and our dogs out BECAUSE it was right next to the gas line. The firemen came in with thermal sensors to confirm the fire had not transferred to the walls of our house.
I'm not certain where all this suspicion is coming from, but I would like to touch base with other owners-Gladiator-gas-automatic transmission fires

Information: No mods / no maintenance at 1,758 miles. What else do you need to know? And why are you attacking my post?

You getting defensive about comments on the lack of details just adds fuel to the skepticism fire.

We just want to know what happened. These trucks do not just spontaneously combust, something caused it.

That is what we are trying to get to the crux of.
Tell me what you need to know. We last drove it 18 days before. Our geriatric cat reacts to a "pop" sound making my husband look out the window. He yells to me "The Jeep's on fire!" I said "I'll call 911, and he ran out with the fire extinguisher. A neighbor had already called 911, a glow from the grill
Fire inspectors are looking at the battery area of the engine compartment We have JeepWave App that says everything was OK so being in a locked property, we had no reason to suspect foul play . What else do you need to know?

No one is attacking anything - except an incredible lack of anything other than a picture with "my Jeep burned".

We're all wondering (well, some of us are) what was the point of the post? Were you looking for information? You won't get information back without providing at least some basic information. To come in with the first post being only a picture and "my Jeep burned after 2 weeks sitting" is rather suspect - what's up here, why the post?

As Paul Harvey used to say "any now you know the rest of the story" - meaning finally, after a game of 20 questions, we now have it as a virgin Jeep, gas, automatic, no mods and no work done, not even maintenance.

I still bet on rodent damage - especially seeing the picture in context.
You'd be amazed what squirrels, chipmunks, mice and rats will do - including causing fried wires.

3 of my cats are getting to the geriatric stage - one of them is deaf and a gunshot in the yard won't budge him, but the others would be running to the windows (or one of them- the younger silver terror, would dive under the bed - she hates pops! Thunder and guns scare the @#$% out of her)

Anyway, a pop rather sounds electrical. A high current type of pop.
(if it was where I live, I'd say gunshot)

I think I can safely say - everyone here is glad you and family and cat are fine and the house had no damage. It's totally amazing that there wasn't heat damage - that's a hot fire -
1200 degrees to melt aluminum and the average house fire is about 1100 degrees, depending on what's inside and so on (thus the ratings of fire resistant boxes and safes)
In other words, that thing was burning as hot as or even hotter than many house fires would be inside. It's enough to cause real damage to anything close. Your fire department knows their stuff and smartly checked using thermal equipment. They knew the temperature of that fire - and yeah, some of us were totally amazed and wondering how the heck can it burn that hot and not damage the house! Wow!

Some of the more minor Jeep underhood rodent damage. There was more but I didn't get pics. Two wires chewed and moved around by mouse teeth make contact and you have some heat.

Mice ate into the high voltage wiring of our heat pump a few years ago - costing a whole lot of money for repairs and new wiring.

We are very thankful to the VRFA and fire investigators who will hopefully get to the bottom of this. I do want to say that I was trying to post this to another "2022 Gladiator parked/gas/automatic went up in flames" post, but I have apparently lost that thread, so I apologize. Seemed we had something in common and I'd hoped we could hook up with others. (BTW, we have dogs that we let out 3 - 4 times daily, so there are no critters going to get past those big sh1t$). If you can help me find the other dude, 2022 Gladiator burned to the ground, thank you.

peppermint oil sprayed everywhere.....always remember to make sure the recirc light is on when I turn the truck off.

Dude I'm ready to hire security. A few months ago I noticed something chewed the plastic shield on my brand new 240a alternator, footprints on my engine cover, and shit on my felt battery cover.

Nothing since the above measures.

Basically this.
