From the looks of the remainder of the engine bay, assuming certain locations of things - gas.
But alas, we'll never know.
The poor horse is still being beat to a pulp weeks after death, and the OP hasn't been seen in over 2 weeks.

Was this a diesel or petrol
Pretty easy to see ignition coils on the near side cylinder bank in the OP's picture, so definitely the 3.6L gas engine.

How is it the hood could melt but the styrofoam insulation cover for the spigot did not melt, or anything else on the side of the house for that matter?

Aha - an edited post taking into account my comment about gas line - but still, no other details or information at all.

I see what you did - deleted the other post I responded to, and then posted here with the gas line comment added, but still - nothing more.

For others looking on - they had an identical post, exactly the same, just above mine in this link, but nothing about the gas line. I made that comment, and then that post was deleted and now the one above this one added with the gas line comment - but no other details as I asked here -

Our 2022 Jeep Gladiator burned to the ground 1/24/2024. 1,758 miles on it. Parked for two weeks next to our house and (very scary) by the gas line to the house.

They had an identical post in another thread. I asked similar questions and even made a comment about the gas line and windows and such - now that post is gone and this one was made - with the comment about a gas line (which I mentioned but was not i their original post)
I smell a rat.

This was my response to their other, nearly identical post in another thread, now removed -

You mean it was sitting right there, right next to the house all that time, and then just suddenly burned - and zero damage to the house at all?
It wasn't running or being driven - it was just sitting, right next to the house - and burned?
Hot enough to melt aluminum (over 1200 degrees), popped the windshield, and not scorch the house or crack the glass house windows...... and is that a gas line/pipe going into the house in that picture?

Hmmmm. what's missing here.

My 2022 Jeep Gladitor burned to the ground August 06, 2023. Jeep claims no responsibility for the cause of fire. I had 2,536 miles on my Gladiator. I had $71k in the vehicle. did not drive all last winter because I did not want snow, salt, slush on my Gladiator. My insurance company "Allstate" offered me $47k. 2 1/2 months have gone by and no claim payout. How does a fire start on a vehicle that is parked and turned off and a cold engine?

defenitely a factory short. If you wanna get what the truck is worth. Hire a private adjuster, they'll cost but will get you your vehicles worth. as far as stellantis saying no fault. its on your insurance company to take em to court and have a third party peer review both sets of finding. As far as how to get light lit under theirs asses and move the process along. no idea bro.

edit: i could see a rodent eating insulation to cause this short.

Automatic ... Gas
And it was just sitting - right next to the house, burning over 1200 degrees, no damage to the house?
Any accessories? Any auxiliary lighting? Mods under the hood like battery swaps or bypasses, etc.?

If it was just sitting - it's probably rodent damage. It makes sense where it's sitting. It's amazing the damage they can do and the fires they start.
I've rewired more rodent damaged things, cars, campers, trailers, trucks, whatever, even had them short out the outside unit of a heat pump - but that SOB paid for that one - his crisp corpse was still standing on the capacitor, mouth on a high voltage wire, when I found him.

That's an older, earlier conversation.
This thread was brought back from the dead by another posting and tacking onto his original thread (which only totally confuses things!)

Current talk is the one sitting by the house.

But having dealt a lot with the wiring on these - you aren't going to see a "factory short" just sitting. Rodents, yeah. They've taken great care to seal and isolate the wiring on these- at least when they are sitting. When running - meh, that's different. Ask the diesel guys. (and then there's poor grounds on the others). But shorts, not very likely. Not on a stock vehicle.
i've seen mice cause flames to come out of the tombstone outlets in the headquarters building of PFG where I used to be an electrician years ago. Some of the night crew, or others, didn't follow the rule of "neutral side down, hot side up" on floor outlet installations.
