I'm not going to jump into the debate here but just say that after speaking to my insurance agent very recently, due to deer collision...
Discussion of aftermarket parts came up. He outright told me with MEEMIC anyways that they have a $1000 automatic riders insurance if I have receipts for proof. So what I have extra now since I have no idea where those are is really not covered. Because unless I have a digitial receipt someplace, I can't really prove what I bought it for. I was told with them anyways that for anything I keep in the car, anything I add to car, and even decals etc.... just keep receipts someplace safe and if it is over $1000 I can buy additional rider insurance for it from them. For them it was like $10 for every 2000 of rider insurance extra per term.
And with this post right here, IMO, he's saying - get the facts, the numbers, the fine print for your policy in your state through your company.
Now he knows what's covered, what's not, and what's necessary to solidify that coverage - receipts.
Like the example here - I was told "keep receipts" - my agent even said send pictures, and copies of receipts for "just in case" (if it's a house fire and moves to the garage and takes out our Jeeps, for example, paper receipts may be lost. )

Simple solution: Agreed upon value insurance.

Pay a little more now and be covered later without drama.

End of conversation

Bill, I didn't want to steal all of the thunder LOL

There are solutions, people just want to bitch because they cheap out.......then cry when they loose they're ass's.

Save the drama for yo mama and not the forums.

As we said in the Army, "Piss poor planning contributes to piss poor results." You made the bed, now sleep in it.

How long will those thread go before we hear from @John Charles ?
I doubt we will ever hear from him again, based on the pictures and pure speculation I’m going with it was a manual and caught fire after short trip to the store or something, second would be a wiring issue based on the aftermarket lights, third I’m guessing mice in that order.

Doubtful he comes back to reply but I see he still shows up lurking online.

He really only has two options if he replies. Dig a deeper hole or have some act of contrition he was misplaced in his thinking. Stubbornness, even if misplaced is a hard thing to overcome for most.

So I agree with the general theme of what has been said here, especially the premise that the OP didn’t find the exact level of commiseration he had hoped for and has thus left.

I would like to offer a thought for those that are “concerned” about insurance covering your added equipment. I cannot speak to other insurance companies but I have had State Farm for over 30 years and I can share what my agent told me. I have invested $40k above the original purchase (which I do own outright) into my build and wanted to understand what they actually would cover and truly what my liability/risk is. My agent said that if I provided a receipt and a picture of it actually installed on the vehicle, that I would be reimbursed above what they settle the vehicle for. I ran her through the wringer with questions about my fault, uninsured motorist, fire, flood, accident, et al and she maintained that I would be reimbursed for anything that I could provide a receipt and installed picture for. The only thing she said I couldn’t get reimbursement for is MY labor. So I could recoup the labor on my lift install because I have a receipt for a 3rd party install but not for the winch install labor as I did that.

I can’t say that any of this is real as I haven’t had to make that claim and hope I never do, but she assured me that it was that simple. I even offered to provide all the information that day just to have it on file and she said it wasn’t necessary.

So for anyone with State Farm and in AZ, you might want to talk to your agent and see if you are covered similarly.
I was told that similarly from my State Farm agent in AL. Dang it reminded me I need to get photos of everything I've done to and installed on my JT as a set file of details. ?

On the remarks of the "battery's glowing red" that does seem like it was Lithium batteries.
Side note thread drifting. ?
This "winter" I might pull out the Lithium battery I've got and get an AGM battery for the cold weather performance. It's not the starting batteries.:like:

I'm guessing something like this got to it -
rapid oxidation of a material in the exothermic chemical process of combustion, releasing heat, light, and various reaction products
In short, something oxidized REALLY REALLY FAST!

Shouldnt I be paid for at least the $71k I paid to the dealership? And shouldnt ALLSTATE pay out and then subrogate with Jeep? this is all new to me. I feel as though the fire was caused by one of the batteries according to the firechief, the vehicle also tried starting while the firemen were putting out the 10 ft flames. they had the fire contained and out and they could not leave due to the fact they could not get one of the batteries to stop glowing. shouldnt I get All of my invested money, why should a victim take any loss. lots of what if's involved here. what if I had parked it in my garage, nobody would have seen the blaze until the truck exploded due to just filling the gas tank. What if I would have been in the vehicle? just frustrated.
This is highly dependent upon your insurer. My company terms their product "replacement cost" and for $200 a year I bought it. Hopefully you have a similar rider on your policy.

If you replace your factory bumper worth $1000 with an after market one that cost $500 how much did you increase the value of your Jeep.
