if we do buy another Jeep - we will probably go that route. I am sick of dealing with the dealers in the NoVA area.
agreed. I also think its better to establish a good relationship with a 4x4 shop. Even if MANs do warranty work its usually by a dumbass tech. I'd rather pay and get it done right than a free fuck up.

That was my thought too. At the rate he's turning over vehicles, it's no wonder he forgot something.

I personally don't see why you can't just get them the information they request, and follow up with them more often to make sure it keeps moving. Communication is a two-way street, so on one hand yes it sucks to not hear back for 2 months, but on the other hand you can also reach out to them before that yourself to check on progress. Often times you reaching out can knock something loose that you can remediate quickly, and makes the process smoother.

I've had some cancellations be super simple and straight-forward, and others not so much. The thing that changes between each outcome has always been time. The sooner I request the cancellation after purchase, the smoother the cancellation goes.

I could see trying to cancel after you no longer own the vehicle causing a few bumps in the road, but it seems a far cry to say they're out to get you...

I went through the same song and dance when I tried to cancel My Jeep Wave Oil change program. I bought in after the one that came with Jeep expired but after a really bad experience that involved oil on steering wheel, oil all over engine cover and a CEL light on after a "service" I decided to opt out. Same thing as you, on hold forever with multiple transfers, hand written letter mailed in. Never got a response or refund.

Dude this is why I’ve pretty much written off my warranty. Nice to have but when it’s executed by idiots the hell with it, not worth redo after redo. It’s what I do professionally anyway, so why not just do it myself. Only thing I can’t do is any functional software changes/updates.
The JT is no prize but it’s not the trucks fault, it’s the “technicians” available to support it, that truth goes way beyond Jeep, it has creeped in on all of them.

If this is such a deep-rooted problem it seems odd that one would have to spend a few billion or whatever on their vehicles before noticing.

Have you tried asking them if they know who you are?
They likely read this and are having board meetings this morning following all nighter Teams video calls.

How long did you own the traded in vehicle with the extended warranty?
I have a couple of thought bouncing around in my head from it is the dealer dragging their feet to corporate.

If you purchased the vehicle in the last XX days, the dealer could be charged back their commission for the upsell.

Have you tried 844-JEEP-WAVE

Anyway, I hope you get this resolved quickly.

Depends who you ask
Yeah what Main line Willy said. There’s a lot to unpack in your original post. My first thought is the dealer messed up the paperwork either to avoid a charge back or incompetence.

For all the smart-ass comments...obviously, you haven't been through this BS with a warranty refund. I have. Maybe don't judge folks on situations you know nothing about. I purchased the then-available Mopar Lifetime Warranty on my 2019 Gen 5 Ram EcoDiesel at the time of purchase (and before the comments start...yes it was available on 1500 diesels for about 3 model years) with full intentions of keeping the truck until the wheels fell off (my other truck is an '02 Excursion 7.3 bought brand new with now 240k original miles). I paid for the warranty outside of the financing. After a year of getting the run around from the service department and Ram Cares over multiple issues with the brand new truck, including the dreaded rear window leak and a 12-inch screen that worked about 1/2 the time, I gave up and traded it in. I called Mopar Warranty the next day and was told I had to get the refund directly from the dealership. The dealer finance manager, who sold me the warranty, argued that since I had paid Mopar directly, the refund had to come from them. This went on for almost a year with e-mails, letters, two visits, three-way calls, etc... I finally obtained the personal e-mail of the owner of the dealership and sent him all the documentation. He called me personally with an apology and the refund check arrived the next day via courier. p.s. some of you may have read my thread about the new '22 GMC 1500 I ended up with that was even worse than the '19 Ram. It was so bad, I came back to CDJR, and love the JTOD so far.

Fun fact - I was told by a CDJR dealer here in the NoVA area - that they would not sell me a new Challenger 392 wide body - unless I financed it - they said they have a policy on not dealing with Cash/Check - due to "Fraud Reasons" - i won't name/call out the dealer - but i've had nothing but shit experiences with CDJR dealers in the NoVA area. The best CDJR dealer imo is in Culpeper - they give you a straight up OTD price with no haggles and no b.s. I am just pissed at Mopar for holding my warranty money hostage.
Depending on the area, that might make sense for that vehicle, and I can understand that policy. That's a desirable high theft vehicle, and the scammers got all day to pull their scams together.

Years ago, our company took money orders for payments on mail-in orders. Then, all of a sudden, the only people paying with money orders were scammers. Even the banks couldn't tell a fake from a real one. After 4 or 5 in a two-month period, we had to quit taking money orders.

I wouldn't take a certified bank check for a big purchase myself without going right to the issuing bank and handing it to them and them handing me back a wad of cash!

. " I did not know that one of the gladiators I traded in had a warranty on it (Mopar warranty) and i forgot to cancel it. "

You're talking about an Extended warranty - correct? How did you NOT KNOW you had one? Or how did the Dealership sell you something and not explain any of that to you? Wasn't there paperwork involved that you had to sign?

The regular factory 3/36 warranty automatically gets transferred to the dealership when you trade.
The dealership you traded it to - They don't care whether you had an extended warranty (or not). It doesn't add any financial gain or benefit to them. They'd rather sell a totally new policy to the new owner.

Or am I totally missing what you're trying to say?
