Is the Gladiator at risk for cancellation?

Everything is at risk of cancelation. The most populous states have passed bills calling for an end to ice sales within the next 10 years. Do any of you believe they'll continue to manufacture vehicles that they can't sell to the majority of Americans? If they do, do you think for a second they won't quadruple the price for the niche market? I'll take an EV Jeep over a $200k JT or JL if it comes to that.

Wonder if Jeep is actually going to come out with the 4xE Gladiator in 2025. I think 2024 sales will be really slow. Highest priced mid-size truck with the worst/weakest engine offering. They really need to ditch the Pentacrap.

Interesting take. I happen to like it. I find it has plenty of power for my tastes. I really enjoy driving it. In fact, it may be my favorite vehicle I've ever driven insofar as fun and comfort goes.

lets not forget the infrastructure is not there to support EVs like gas powered. They need to figure that out well before they remove gas. If it comes to that, that is.

Insurance companies are charging higher rates for EV's now. The cost to repair is a lot higher. You run something over and damage the battery pack. That has to be replaced. Hertz has canceled they order with Tesla and Polestar because of the repair costs and insurance. Plus they are selling 60,000 Tesla s from their fleet. Replacing them with ICE vehicles.

Parking garages are starting to ban EV's because of the fire hazard they represent.

47% @ 5 years is pretty normal. My Gladiator is likely down to 65% in 2 years.

The cold stuff is just FUD. Norway is fine with EVs in the cold. The so called "ChiCaGo" stories were BS and blown way out of proportion.

The government mandated LED lighting for the home. I hate it. I want my incandescents back.

I've heard this, wonder where that is. Here in Socal, my Model Y is the same price as my Mojave to insure.

It's likely someone saw a quote for a Model S Plaid, a $100,000 rocket, and ran with that. "EVs are expensive to insure!!!" So are Ferraris.

It's a thing. Go on the Rivian forums and you can see the grumbling about the insurance increases. May be more specific to Rivian as they seem to have made some poor choices in designing their body panels that are not repair friendly. Example being the side panels being one piece so any shot to the rear corner (like from a rear impact) results in a replacement of the entire body side.

Also, does anyone think it's going to be cheap to repair a Tesla with a giga casting? Good for building. but lousy for the owner and insurance companies should that ever get damaged.

A Rivian is an 80k + truck. People will literally look at their insurance for their $38k Tacoma and then compare to a Rivian.

Gladiator is fine just need a decent engine. I have the diesel and love it. Just not sure how long it will last

It will last forever if you learn what to do. There is FB group on the best oil with analysis plus with other forums on the ECO D doing the same.

Change our trans oil,filter, clean magnets at 30k not lifetime or what ever. OEM is good but there are better oils that show less wear on the oil lab work like HPL or Amsoil but Amsoil is red and the dealer will know. HPL has green and will look the same. You fuel lube like Redline Oil 85+ catalyst or EDT. Add extra lube with LX4. Just a few examples but much more can be done.
