My Gladiator just turned 4 on May 17th.
Question, what's the popular battery choice everyone is going to for a replacement?

Batteries are like oil, everybody has their favorite flavor. I would say pick whatever brand you are comfortable with and factor in warranty and ability to warranty in your decision process.

I hate to say it, but i have had very good luck with walmarts instore top tier battery. Bang for the buck it's hard to beat, about half the price of a interstate brand of the same spec.
I've seen 2 or 3 others here say the same thing. Makes me think about taking a look next time I need a battery.

AutoZone regularly has the Duralast platinum 94R on sale for the same price as the Walmart battery. Both are 4 year warranty. Just pick one with the best warranty and the most locations in your area.

I went with this about 6 months ago and haven't had any issues yet. Got it on sale like you mentioned.

Thanks everyone for the opinions looks like I'm going AutoZone or Wally world.
Like it was mentioned Interstate $100.00 dollars more AND wants $25 to R&R the batt.
That's what I was considering but haven't bought a battery in 3-4 yrs and didn't know if anything had changed.

I'm not sure why you use the term "I hate to say it" when referring to walmart. Compared to other batteries, they definitely cost less and anyone I know who has actually used them tells me that they work as well and last as long as some of the name brand expensive ones. In fact, I am getting my 24 volt trolling motor setup in my boat using the walmart batteries. I'm spending about $500 as compared to $725 I would spend on the interstate. I decided to go with the walmart batteries due to the price plus the guy about three boats down in the marina has a similar setup and is very pleased with the performance after using them for over two years.

Note: I know we are not talking about marine batteries here but the marine environment is very hard on batteries. I was just suggesting that walmart appears to make good batteries.

You may want to consider changing the little aux battery out at the same time. If it goes it will take the main one with it.

Fixed it.

There are many ways batteries fail. A main "can" take out the aux, the aux "can" take out the main, or, either can fail and have little impact on the other at all.

This bit about "it will" is more internet lore started way back and repeated over the years.

I know it was a few years ago - but I had a Walmart battery in my F20 tractor. That tractor sat most of the time. It was kept up with a 12 volt GENERATOR mounted on the engine. You know how well those maintain batteries.
Sitting around, in the days before I really took care of batteries on stuff like that (no biggy, I could still crank start it) that battery went over 7 years before it failed, and it was their cheapest battery at the time.

I'm going on 4 years with the AC Delco 94r from Amazon. Killed it 3 times and brought it back no issues.

I went with the top of line 4yr Walmart battery. $195 installed.
Almost $100 less than AutoZone.
