Thanks. I like the more retro look of the KC’s versus light bars. Thought I’d use them more, rarely do, though. The KC's lÓÓk great !
@Escape.idiocracy, thanks for that information. I wasn’t aware of the need to replace the HPFP, although given the pressures it sure makes sense. It’s been a while since I’ve kept a vehicle for 120k miles but expect to do so if I find a diesel JTR that fits my desires. Thanks for the heads up.Realistically, we aren’t quite to the point where enough ecodiesel Jeep owners have created 100-140k miles to know the real failure point. I am sure that we will get this data from the 1500 forums…. My opinion is the fuel pumps will likely have a life of around 120k miles…. Think timing belt on a car… push mush past this mark and it could explode and quadruple the cost… vs just replacing it somewhere around that mark and get peace of mind for another 120k or so.
For history- most tdi VW’s with cp4’s change the fuel pump at the same time they change the timing belt… though they have cp3 conversions options while this does not yet…
fuel pump is making 24-30kpsi…. It’s going to eventually fail.
To those that have gotten the recall done- cool, instead of 120k mile replacement, it’s stretched a bit further down the road.
The pump is in a super convenient location, willing to bet most that are used to maintaining their vehicles at home could do this in 2-3 hours without too much trouble. Guy who did mine had it complete in 40 min… though he said he’s done 30+ now.
Thank you for the contact. Plan to stay out of finance guy’s office as much as possible!I've liked I Isaiah Collins. Watch out for the finance man they are sharks.
Nice! Not sure why, but didn’t think much of Sarge Green when they first came out but the color sure has grown on me. Good chance I’d choose Sarge if I have the option to do so, that or another Sting Gray.Congrats. Got mine last week as well.

Didn't someone post instructions on how to do it?The tech who did mine, did it under an hour.
Same here. Although I did just purchase a 32" amber single stack light bar to mount across the hood... basically because (atleast at this time) my potential usage wouldn't justify the $$ that the type of KC's I would want... so basically, I cheaped out... lolThanks. Funny... because I wouldn't have bought any other color besides Sarge Green...Nice! Not sure why, but didn’t think much of Sarge Green when they first came out but the color sure has grown on me. Good chance I’d choose Sarge if I have the option to do so, that or another Sting Gray.
I believe they did. But don't remember the thread or who. Remember that you had to use a degree wheel on the gear to properly set the pump timing.Didn't someone post instructions on how to do it?

Nah … just means you had more sense than I did!Same here. While I'm a huge advocate of lifting and customizing, if that Jeep were mine I'd keep that sucker bone stock. It's a beaut! Hell, I'd probably even throw it in the garage. That thing will be rare and highly sought after in a few years.Congrats. Got mine last week as well.

Yes, I posted the instructions in the past, and here they are again. My tech did this in a few hours from the time I dropped it off. I was concerned because they just did the pump and not the lines, injectors, etc. I asked for a photo of the pump to see whether there was any metal but the tech did not do this nor did they show me the part. I was told by several sources that if they could have done more under warranty they would have as it pays well (the hours allotted to the tech to do the repairs). Prior to this I did not have any issues, and I am hopeful that this solution will last. Mine is a CPO with about 42,000 miles now.Didn't someone post instructions on how to do it?
