This is part of why the no-haggle model from Saturn worked so well early on (and why Carmax maintains profitability)- you knew the price walking in and there's no back and forth. Same can be said for Tesla and their direct pricing/sales scheme.

The legacy dealer model is dying but yet it persists due to governmental sanctioned monopolies. (NC Auto Dealers Association vs Tesla comes to mind).
