Old enough to know how a visor should work and to not need a $2 dollar Amazon fix to make it right, or old enough to expect all the mechanical parts to live long and well and to also want the best reputation in the industry. ….oh, that’s going to hit our wallets, won’t it 😬
A$2 Amazon visor fix?! Where? Shoot, mine cost me $20!

I'd like to hear them tackle some of the issues that HAVE to be costing them lots of warranty money. Corrosion repairs and valvetrain stuff come to mind.

Yeah, I watched a video review of the RAM RHO. They were blasting that thru the desert and up some sheer sand walls. Crazy power!!! Looked like it was accelerating going UP the wall. Didn't sound as good as the "Hemi" but it didn't sound terrible either.
NGL the Ram RHO is pretty badass but an $88K+ pickup is not even remotely in my future.

On the subject of straight-6's, It is pretty damned amazing what can be done with a naturally aspirated one. And if you force some air down its throat, hang on for the ride. You can get V8 or better performance with a much smoother running lump.

The only reason why V6's are more popular IMO is they take up less space than a straight 6.

Dump the 3.6 and make a deal with VW for the 3.0SC motor..pretty bullet proof, have one in my Q7 with 98k miles. Just oil changes, 1 $25 belt, 1 air filter $60 and coil packs and spark plugs $250. Thats it. 333 HP and 325 TQ on my 2017, new ones 355hp and 369tq. and it gets 24 in town and 28 HWY.

Plus same for the VW 3.0 diesel..they are bullit proof, bring back the diesel.

We don't need a new untested motor we need one thats gets it done and reliable..my 10c.

Sounds like a merit path to the top rather than a Didn't Earn It hire
These forums are full of comments deriding the sad state of affairs that is Jeep, sales have been falling for 6 years, prices are outrageous, there is no vision... then in one of the least surprising or creative moves in history they promote one of the people primarily responsible for this disaster, and it's a celebration because the failure looks like them. 🤡
Yes. And its touching me. I need an adult.

...oh, wait. The adult is in the White House now. We'll be fine.
If the well-worn DEI quips don't get you, the child molestation and rapist jokes will have you rolling.

Probably the visor remedy alone will cost an extra 5,000 and the longevity issue .. just pull the badges off and issue everyone a big magic marker and we can write Range Rover on the tail gate.

Best they're gonna do is Nighthawk every thing to get the costs down.

The JT is riding out the next three years as is and going into the sunset. This dude, and no other person who's been in the company for 20 years trying to save every penny and maximize every sale is going to change that.

Sigh.

Went to the DC auto show today. Granted, auto shows are not much anymore and I think there were more brands not there than were.

Jeep had no display. Just a sign. There was at least one Stellantis sign too. No turntables spinning the brand new Wagoneer S? No Rubicon perched on a hill? No pile of fake rocks? Even Nissan had a couple sad looking pine trees alongside their Rock Creek trims. And what about all the lifestyle crap? Jeep will put its logo on anything. But apparently nothing that would be at the show.
On Display:
1 392 JLU
1 Wagoneer S
1 Compass
1 Grand Cherokee L
1 base JT Sport with a hardtop
1 Grand Wagoneer

I mean, thats pathetic. I even mentioned to the rep that it was disappointing to see a base JT and he said its all the dealers would send them from stock.

Stellantis had a handful of Rams, a Hornet, a Charger, Durango, a couple minivans, a Tonale and that's about it. Saddest part is that's really all there is left in the lineup. This company had better get its ship righted and fast.

Maybe they're being picky about WHERE they spend their work in putting up displays. They might be spending more time on market areas that aren't buying into the EV/PZEV market as much. I'll admit though, that should still leave them open to showcasing the new Recon (which will be trash). But no better people than DC/non-specific city urban trash driving their useless 4WD EVs from/to Georgetown/un-named upscale district.

Likely they weren't putting much into it, and they were not alone. BMW, MB, Audi, Porsche, Mini, Mazda, Lexus, Infiniti, Rivian all come to mind as not being there. Mostly the displays were meh.

TBF- I'm not going to claim I expected much- even the big NY, LA, etc shows aren't that special anymore. But DC always was one of the better, if not smaller shows. In years past there were much better, bigger showings with concepts, halo cars, etc. Regardless, in a sea of mediocrity, Stellantis' showing was sub par.

I did at least get to finally see a Grenadier up close and personal. And I have the blessing of Ms BourbonRunner to buy one. I just need to find $100K laying around.

Ooooh, I like the Grenadiers. A few of my dream vehicles would be a Defender 110 (the old one), G-Wagen, or a Grenadier. Although my dream truck was my JTR until I bought it.... I can never be happy. The American way I guess.

The last auto shows I went to were in Houston in 2001 and I think 2004. I remember seeing some pretty iconic cars; the Viper GTS-R concept, the Chrysler ME412, the Saleen S7, even the first "modern" Bronco concept. I remember being in awe of some of the stuff back then. Now, I just see sh*t... kinda like that South Park episode. Maybe I'm just too old to be impressed anymore :CWL:

Like you said, car shows suck nowadays. I stopped going a few years ago. Shit, they don't even have booth babes to ogle anymore to make up for the lack of product.

Haha, that's funny you mention that. I used to date a drift "trophy girl" that would showcase table displays and car products at competitions/car shows while scantily cladded. Ironically, last I heard, she's working HR in Cali somewhere. Oh, how the times have changed :(

Nice! Lucky man. The irony indeed. I can picture the HR sensitivity lecture now.
