Hey guys! I am one year into my lease of my 2022 jeep gladiator Willy’s. I absolutely love it and am def going to purchase at the end of the lease. That being said, I’m ready to start doing a few upgrades. I spoke to my contact at big O tires and it looks like I’m in for at least 2200 for a 2.5 inch lift with 35s. Needless to say, no way my wife would every sign off on that. So I’m searching for cheaper options if anyone has any advice. maybe just keeping my stock willys tires on. I saw another guy who kept his stock tires and put on a 1.5 in level kit and I thought it looked really good so maybe that’s a decent cheaper option?? If I order to 1.5 in kit will most tire places install for me? I’m def not a car guy so talk to me like I have no idea what you’re talking about, because chances are I don’t. I won’t do hardly any off road stuff except for driving thru fields to fill feeders and haul deer out. I just want it to look better because I can’t stand how low the front looks compared to the back. Any and all advice would be awesome! Thanks!
this is me.

Only tangentially related but if I can offer one piece of advice... don't do any upgrades until you've actually bought out the lease. Right out of college I worked doing leasing paperwork, and something I saw all the time were people who installed thousands of dollars of upgrades and modifications with the intension of buying out the lease at the end of the term. Life happened, and they weren't able to afford to do it or get financing to do it. They would inevitably end up returning the vehicle with all the upgrades on it, and lose all the money they put into it. Or some of them would actually end up getting a bill for doing modifications to their lease vehicle. Then the dealer or auction or wherever they would go usually got a premium when they sold it because they listed all the addons they got for free.

A lease is just a long term rental. It's not your vehicle, and until it is, please don't add anything to it.

Great advice! Luckily I already looked into all that and won’t be penalized for any mods. Also, I’m fortunate enough to know that we are in the right financial space to be able to buy the lease out. I’ve decided just to do the 1.5 in front level and my uncle is going to help me install so I’d only be out 130 bucks if it doesn’t work out!

Catalogues will kill your jeep and make you a laughing stock. Leafing/scrolling through the catalogue a moment of weakness and you have all sorts of Christmas tree ornaments all over your truck. Just look at all the hood mounted lights out there. Fender deletes, fake bead locks and flag decorated nonsense.
We won’t bring up the “sad eyes” grill covers.

when you look through the catalog…. Don’t buy anything after a beer or before taking a weekend to think it over. You’ll usually find that you don’t want or need the bauble. If you’re impulsive (check arms for tattoos, good way to know, seriously, it’s been studied). Ask a friend if it’s a good idea.

Good advice above. No reason to hurry into any mods. I have to think on any mod for a pretty good while, even when I am sure about the mod I still have to get motivated to spend the money.

Yup I agree. I think the front level will be all i do until I need new tires. Maybe running boards eventually but that’s about it.

If your wife won't sign off on mods, why don't you find a used one that has the lift and tire size that you are looking for? You might have to drive a bit to pick it up but you'd get what you want and roll it into your loan.

Looks like mine! I will be adding these 285/75R17's (34's) as soon as I can wear out the Firestones. I think that's about as tall as we can go without rubbing with the 1.5 leveler. A friend of mine put 305/70R17's on his and it looks great.

Those wives typically have high mileage and require a lot of maintenance ruining any savings you may get, plus you never know what kind of issues they have that put them back on the market. I'd advise you avoid them as a money pit.
