Got it. So it's a preventative measure for something that requires a very specific series of events to happen, as normal use of the key and doors wouldn't allow it to happen in the first place. Because you can't hit the door lock button on the inside and have it lock you out, and if you did then it unlocks as soon as you open the door anyway, nor can the prox locks work without the key on the outside of the vehicle.It's basically just to keep you from accidentally locking the keys in. Like with proximity locks, how you just touch the door handle, or with power locks, you press the lock button on the inside of the door when you get out (or at least that's how I've always done it). If you use the key fob button, you'll never have the issue. But I always use the door button or the prox lock on the handle.
