So I may sound like an old person complaining about a new age thing, but is anyone else annoyed by people placing these ducks on their vehicle? I am an "old school jeeper" I guess. I bought my first Jeep(88YJ) the day I turned 15(25ish years ago) and have the old school mentality I guess of you don't touch someone's vehicle if you don't know them. And I know the Jeep duck stuff is a newer phenomenon started by a mom in Canada or what ever the back story is. Honestly I don't see how some of these people I see coming down the road can even see due to the reflections stretching all the way across their dash.

Other than getting on here to rant about how I don't believe people should touch your vehicle let alone leave something on it, is there a way other than having no ducks on my dash to let these people know not to leave these on my truck? When they do its just going to the trash or my dog.

And yes I am sure I am going to upset some of you with my opinion on this but it is what it is. Some of you love this new sort of "jeep thing" but I am sure there are others that also cant stand it. I just really want to know how to avoid getting these left on my truck.

Thanks for any helpful advice and for listening to my rant.

I don't care if other people display their ducks, but I'm with you on not wanting people messing with my vehicle.

It's the same rules you learned in kindergarten: Don't touch stuff that doesn't belong to you unless you get permission first.

You could get a vinyl decal made and place it on your drivers door.

"No ducks please."

110% agree. Car Culture teaches you not to touch someone else's vehicle no matter how much you like it. Its like one of the unwritten rules that everyone knows.

That could work sometimes, but I doubt the duckers would pay it any attention. Also I take the front doors off...

placing a duck on my cowl doesnt bother me, but i get the notion 'not yours, dont touch'

i hate that my neighbors let their dogs pee and poop on my front yard. i dont care they pick up the poop, idk why they think its okay to let their dog on my property to pee and poop.

rabble rabble i guess. I turned 40 this year, i guess this is life now. lmao

Every duck placed on my vehicles has been an ad for something, usually some self-promoting dipshit's instagram account. The Algorithm even fed me a video a while ago of a guy making ducks with his social media accounts and placing them on every Jeep he could find.

To me it's no different than sticking a flyer or menu on my car, I still end up scraping the sloppy pulp out of my window seals or wiper blades when it rains while cursing your family for the next four generations and questioning the involvement of certain barnyard animals in your parentage.

Any good idea that makes it to social media "influencers" is immediately ruined.

I get it, but also I plow through branches in my Jeep, kick up rocks, etc. A duck on my door handle isn't going to do any damage or bother me in the least. It's a Jeep.

That said, I think it's silly and I don't participate. But it's really nbd.

My wife has this on her 392, lol.
I’ve found if you don’t have ducks, you don’t get ducks. Also agree, they are dumb and seem to be popular amongst all the “new” Jeep owners. Nothing like seeing a stock Jeep with colored door handles, some goofy name, and 27 ducks on the dash!🙄

I think the duck thing is goofy as heck.

That being said, my truck has like twenty hail dents in the hood so a duck isn't going to make matters worse.

I collect the offenders and throw them in the guest bath tub when I get home. The girlfriends kids like them. I don't sweat it.

It doesn't bother me to get a duck, but I think it's dumb. My neighbor gave me one that was flipping the middle finger....that was funny. All other ducks have been given to my dog.

My dad's wife makes him display ducks all the way across his Gladiator dash. I point and laugh.

I like the variety of “No Duck” stickers shown here.
I don’t mind the ducks but definitely don’t care to get all worked up about giving or getting them. I have about a dozen on my dash and I’m about ready to ditch em all cuz they’re cluttering up my dash.
the “No Ducks” stickers look like a pretty good idea if you want to keep them away.
